4 out of 6 birth announcements in our local paper were all ISLAS

I know someone who has just had a baby girl and called her Isla, and another who has called hers Elsie which is very unusual!!

Funny you should say that about Layla, i look after children and every name people were saying i was like "no, looked after a **** and he/she was awfuly naughty" lol x

This is annoying as we picked a really old fashioned name that gets laughed at quite a bit, now I seem to see it everywhere I haven't really made it public, My family know but I haven't made it public on facebook or here

Isla is a popular name up here, it's rubbish when someone sneaks in there first though! Maybe you're just noticing it more because it's the name you've chosen? I know that since being pregnant i seem to see other pregnant women everywhere where as i didn't see many before x

aww gutted honey!! I know 4 people who were due to have babies (2 already had them), one had a girl (no name yet) one didnt know what they were having but she had a boy. Another person who I work with his wife is due next week and they don't know what they're having and I'm just waiting and waiting and praying no one uses my girls name!!

My sister said to me she loved the name Isla and that's what I should call my girl....it would be lovely except my OH's surname is White.......

I know how you feel, I've chosen the name Poppy, and I had once thought that it wasn't very popular...and now I'm seeing it everywhere! I even picked up a parenting magazine the other day, and it seemed every baby in there was called Poppy!

Oh well, I'm too attached to the name now, I can't even consider changing it!
