I've just been reading up on guaifenesin (its an ingedient in cough medicine) and how it can help thin out cervical mucus to help sperm get through.

It says if you are on clomid if you starting taking 3 x 2 teaspoons a day the day after clomid it can really help.

Has anyone else tried this - is it worth doing do you think? I'm willing to try anything lol.

ETA: Now I have posted this thread lots of other threads about it have now been displayed at the bottom

Also, I've just read that it works on men too - hubby was told that his semen was slightly viscous so I am going to get him to take some as well. Would it be the same time/dosage for him as well?

I have taken it and I think it helps. Make sure that whatever you take that guafenisin is the ONLY active ingredient. Other active ingredients will have a drying affect. Make sure to increase your water consumption too...that alone can help a lot too. Good luck with it!

Hi,
I have tried it before, I didn't get preg but I just bought a new bottle to try again! I bought the bottle that says just guarblahblah(whatever it's called lol) on the front, if you make sure to get the kind without other ingredients, at the very least it can't do any harm  I have also heard it is good for men-how can you tell if he should use it? Is it the liquefaction that you look at?

OK I've just checked the bottle and it only mentions guaiwotsit as an active ingredient. I got it from Lloyds pharmacy - £2.85 for 150ml just in case people were spending more on a brand name :D

Jennifer - all I know is when hubby has his sperm test it came back as OK but the doctor commented that it was slightly viscous and reading up on this stuff made me think it might do something for him as well lol.
