My mom is throwing me a shower, and at first she said "traditional just girls" but I seriously only have two people that I could invite that are girls, and I'm not super close to them. mostly do things with hubby and his friends, as I find it easier to be friends with guys than with girls. So my mom said maybe we should invite guys too, but I don't think most guys would want to go to a baby shower. I know they would come just to be nice, but I wouldn't want to bore them or anything. Ideas on what to do so the guys dont get bored? Or should we keep it just girls?

Can you do like a baby shower/BBQ. I never had a traditional baby shower. 1st bub I had my cousin, sister and like 3 friends where I lived. Had one with my mum, mil younger sisters and a friend at my home town, and a work shower with the games and things but my boss organised that and it was just with a few girls I worked with. With my 2nd we just had a BBQ with my cousin, sister and BFF family at the time. So all the boys came and we just mellowed out and ate with just a couple of gifts for bub. I'd love to do a big fancy shower for this bub but I just couldn't be bothered.
Just do what you want, doesn't really matter :)
( I'm one of the people that think every baby should be celebrated not just the 1st, but we don't do the crazy OTT showers like I've seen some do where everyone buys basically everything for baby ) we just do small gifts like an out fit etc

My brother is throwing me a shower-I'm having a boy-guys are included. We are having it at an upscale bar with outside seating. There is a cash bar, no baby games. Decorating with blue hydrangeas, ties, marbles fun cake. Should be a good, laid back time!

I love the BBQ idea! My hubby got a grill for Christmas and hasn't been able to use it yet, so that's perfect. I don't know if my mom is planning any games or anything. She hasn't really included me in anything other than the guests, but I'll definitely suggest the BBQ. :)

Haha! Games at the BBQ with your blokey mates would be funny though, things like...

- blindfolded nappy putting on baby (doll) races,
- taste the un-labelled baby food jars
- building the highest tower of nappies
- baby weight and date sweepstake

xxx

All of my friend's baby showers were couples (well singles too) and so will mine be. My best friend is a guy, can't imagine doing this without him :) Should be fun. Last year my friend had one and one of the games was for guys to diaper a balloon...was hilarious :)

I had an all girls shower and then I'm having another shower (his family) and there will be men there too.

When I threw my SIL a shower we did it coed and we just played more guy friendly games. Like they really got a kick out of the game where you microwave candy bars in diapers and have to sniff the "dirty" diapers.

Some of my guy friends would totally get a kick out of some of the games, but others would feel too awkward and I'm worried they wouldn't have much fun.

You don't have to make them do the games. Could just be a head to head girls vs boys nomination kind of thing?

Anagrams, close up picture quizes, guess who's baby photo game, wierd fact quizzes to just have around tables to chat about can be nice too xxx
