Hi everyone! Gotta share my happy news :)

So, after having a m/c in June I am now pg again. Had a scan at 6 weeks and saw hb now had another today...here's the pic (saw hb today as well). I am trying to relax and just enjoy things from here out, but I am sure others who have m/c'd know how hard that can be!! Anyone know any m/c statistics? Maybe if I know the chance of losing this one is super low I can rest easier!! I also have pretty much NO symptoms (totally unlike my pregnancy with my daughter which was extremely symptom ridden!).

Well, after the heartbeat is seen the chance of miscarriage is very low.
Especially if there is evidence of proper growth and movement.
After 12 weeks it plummets to 10% and stays there for the rest of your pregnancy.
The fact that you've seen the heartbeat twice is a very good sign :hugs:

Thanks hun! Sorry you had to read my post in two places!! LOL! :)

Thanks so much for the reassurance!!!

Hello...I just had my eight week scan today and I have read that once a hb is seen at this stage it is less of a chance to MC. U are one day ahead of me. Yay....

I was told at my scan at 7 weeks that once the heartbeat is seen and after 9 weeks the chance of mc is 2%

WOW...2%?! That is really low! Thanks so much, that makes me feel a lot better! Maybe this little one really is going to hang out the whole time :)

Congratulations!!!
I too had an MC in June, Then got this bfp on july 3rd ..i'm now 13+2!

i had 2 early scans, 1st only saw gestational and yolk sac, and second saw HB at 7weeks.

your scan is great :happydance: i am in the same position as you, m/c in march, bfp 11th aug, had a scan at 6w3d saw heartbeat, i have another on saturday, should be 8w5d, last babys heat stopped at 8w6d so very scary time, I just wanted to ask if you could see much on the scan (baby movements etc) I wish you a h&h pregnancy, and fingers crossed everything goes ok for me saturday xxx

Here is some information from a site I found a few weeks back.

https://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ma2006/information/ultrasound.htm

Early scans

You may be referred for an early scan, before 11 weeks, because of vaginal bleeding or spotting, or possibly because you have had problems in a previous pregnancy. The best time to have a scan is from about 7 weeks’ gestation when it is normally possible to see the baby’s heartbeat.

If the scan picks up a heartbeat and the baby appears to be the right size according to your dates, this can be very reassuring. Research has shown that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of the pregnancy continuing are 78%. A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks to 99.4%. So things could still go wrong, but as long as there is a heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage decreases as the weeks go by.

However, a heartbeat can be difficult to detect in early pregnancy so you may be asked to return for another scan a week or so later to assess the situation. Because of the time needed to make a clear assessment, many women experience a period of stress and uncertainty, of being “in limbo”, which can last for some time. You may need to find some support for yourself if this happens to you.

I hope this helps you feel a little more comfortable about having a great pregnancy. :happydance:
