Had first appointment...........the systems a farce!

I live down the road from my friend but at different doctors, I had to go to one sure start centre with a midwife to book and then normal appointments are at another sure start with different midwives, she sees her midwife at the drs, same midwife same drs!

It's crazy when baby here too, her baby will have injections and appts with health visitor in the baby clinic whereas I go to my drs and see a nurse who isn't trained in babies at all! Not a fan to be honest!!!

Glad you got something worked out through your friend, but that sucks that the care is so disjointed. I see the same doc every month, he is on call for my delivery, and all my scans/labs are in the same bldg, which is also attached to the hospital I give birth at. The hospital has a full level to NICU, and my pediatrician is on call to check baby out after birth. Same doc, same pediatrician, same hospital for all my pregnancies and all my births. They know my name, issues, preferences, and concerns. How do you deal with a different person each time and so many different places/offices? That would drive me mad! How can they give you good care when they only know you through a few notes scribbles on paper? Sorry to go on, but would be pissed if I was given that service.
