I finally had my first gynae appointment. The doctor was very nice and did an internal ultrasound (this scared me as i didnt think i would be getting anything done and in like to be prepared for it). It was too sore and he showed me the images of my uterus and ovaries. He also asked me a lot of questions. He said they could do a laporoscopy but as i am ttc its not a priority at the moment.

He said my uterine lining is thicker and bulkier than it should be so he thinks i have adenomyosis- endometriosis of the lining. Hes given me a prescription for the pain and heavy flow during af. He said 'you will get pregnant'- well we shall see! Im quite a doubtful person but this was encouraging! Im glas i actually got a diagnosis...i knew i wasnt going mad!

Oh he also said he couldnt tell if i was pregnant as its too early but it was exciting to think there might be something in there/ thats where my baby would live when i have one!

Glad it went well and you got some answers. Your gynae did more than mine did at my first appointment, i just had questions asked and blood tests.

i think it was because my doctor had sugested endometriosis in the letter and ive been on meds that havnt worked at easing the pain/heaviness of af and coz its a common condition but usually in older people. How are you feeling since your lap arcanegirl?

Pleased you got some answers and are comfortable with your gynae :D

im glad to hear that arcanegirl! Yeah i know im lucky my doctor was nice because it makes a big difference! I always feel like im battling for their time though because i will interupt them when they are saying things i understand to ask them more detailed questions. Im sure it does their heads in but i like knowing:rofl:

hubby and i have got our first appointment on feb 26th. Was nervous about it, but your words have given me some reassurance.

thanks........

thats great charlotte i was nervous too but it was def worth it! Are you having problems ttc?

hi Carolina......

probs in that i had to come off my arthritis meds....they were good for keeping limbs nice and supple if you know what i mean!

was really late this time round, 9 days....amazed that i didn't take a hpt, but also glad.....started on wednesday, but was very different.....doctor believes it was an early mc.......

very sad........will keep trying though.......

no news for you yet though?

C

i have arthritis too! i cam off my meds when ttc! Is the arthritis med giving you problems with ttc? I found out i have endometriosis of the uterus lining but i dont know if my tubes or anything are blocked because i would have to get a laporoscopy for that but my dr thinks its just probably just the lining.

I tested today and got a bfn...i had a bit of brown discharge this afternoon but nothing since but i think af is probably on the way. Quite upset and fed up today as this is my 5th cycle. Feel like it will never happen and it doesnt bother OH as much because hes easily pleased (doesnt mind if i get pregnant or not). Which is starting to get on my nerves. I suppose if he wantd one as much as me then id feel bad for him that im not preggers yet!

I am glad that you had a positive appointment - hopefully the BFP will come along real soon!

im glad it went well for u hun n ur BFP is jus round the corner xx
