Had period last month, 8 days this month

I had sex with my partner in August, he been on the road since then. I came on my period in sep and now this month.. Nothing. Today makes 8 days late. Have anyone ever experienced this before and was pregnant? I'm going to test soon, just want others opinions or if they experienced this.
