Seems on the menu for tonight is....haggis neep and tatties but I'm not so sure I'm allowed it while I'm pregnant!
Mixed reviews on google, some people say it's fine others say to just avoid it, what do you ladies think? I can't be bothered having to cook a normal and a vegetarian one just for me!

does it have Liver in it if so then wait till baby is here..

I've had it once in my pregnancy, but I totally forgot that there's liver in it.. Whoops!

Lol I've eaten things I forgot I wasn't allowed to like some cheeses haha I heard you were allowed a certain amount of liver per week though?

Ahh, I had brie the other week, accidental in a cafe, but I still ate it :haha: I'm not sure, I thought you were supposed to avoid it, but seeing as I don't eat it I never paid any attention it it :dohh:

I've had haggis a few times and all is well. I want it now you've posted this..:dohh:

I've had haggis once or twice since getting pregnant.. Some people say you're not supposed to eat it, but I don't really see the harm.. The amount of liver in it isn't big, and back in the old days people were encourage to eat liver! I wouldn't just eat it every day, but once in a while is fine IMO :)

i've avoided it because it's got liver in it.. just to be safe.

i have to say veggie haggis isnt the same!

Seems due to my debate we're having a roast chicken dinner instead haha will have to have some soon though, maybe next week when I'll be one person again instead of 1.5 :haha:

Even a meal of liver would be safe to eat once a week or so. The reason we're 'supposed' to avoid it is because of the high concentration of vitamin A in liver - but you would need to be consuming ridiculous amounts every day for it to slightly increase the risk of birth defects in the baby.

Haggis is absolutely fine!

I've been having haggis once every week or two all pregnancy. The amount of liver is so small, it's really not an issue :flower:

lol, we're having haggis for tea too! I'd never even thought about not having it, we've had it a few times whilst I've been pregnant! I'll still be having it!
