Hape bamboo e-cars, anyone answer a Q pls?

Does anyone have the Hape bamboo cars, like the E-racer, E-offroader etc? I'm wondering if you can fit little figurines in them, like the ones Hape do or like these. I can't tell from pictures if they would be able to be used like that. If they can I'll get one or two for Ro for Christmas, as he loves both cars and small-world play, but I don't want to get him just another car if they can't fit people in, IYSWIM.
