Last night I saw HP & the Deathly Hallows and I have always had an idea that the inspiration for the Death Eaters were the Nazis.
After seeing the movie it just confirmed it. The scenes in which confirmed it was:
The new change in the Ministry of Magic producing "Mudblood" propaganda.
When the Third Reich came into power, there was a lot of Jewish propaganda.
When a few wizards were dragging that poor wizard who shouted that his father was only a quarter or half muggleborn. Which many people in europe were taken off if they had a Jewish relative no matter if it was two generations before.
Finally when Bellatrix carved "Mudblood" into Hermione's left forearm. It is similar to the tattoo which was placed in the same area on prisoners at the concentration camps such as Auschwitz.
It was just wow.
Can't wait for part 2.
