really overloaded on baby stuff?

I am not joking when I say that I have spent soooo much money!

I knew that obviously having a baby would be expensive, and I don't grudge spending money on my son in the slightest - especially as it's not the money aspect that has shocked me, but the vast amount of stuff I have for him now!

I was originally going to have a baby shower, as my friends wanted to throw one for me, but then they all turned nasty and ignorant, etc. so now I'm not having one as I no longer feel the need to keep them in my life IYKWIM.

Soo...

Due to the lack of baby shower, me, OH and both of our parents have been the ones buying everything, and whilst having a look through everything I have at the moment (as no doubt I'll end up buying more within the next few weeks :dohh:) I can officially say...

OMG.

I have (and I'm being 100% truthful here), at least £600 worth of clothes.
- Bearing in mind that it's not all newborn and 0-3 months, I do have clothing in a range of sizes, all the way up to 12 months, and one t-shirt in 12-18 months.

Originally I thought I was being smart, buying very few newborn items as he probably won't get the wear out of them, but the huge amount of clothing in every other size probably won't get the wear either! (Unless I change him 4-5 times a day, which I think I will :haha:).

Any time I go out, I just have to buy him something.

And if I buy something for me, I then buy him a little extra thing.

And of course, I have all the other bits and bobs and big things, such as:
- Cotbed.
- Tatty Teddy bed in a bag set, curtains and wall art (bloody cost me £155, but they were too cute to resist :cloud9:).
- Please Look After Me bedding from mothercare (bought this before I decided I wanted a Tatty Teddy themed nursery ).
- Crib.
- Vibrating Bouncer.
- Swing/seat.
- Chest of drawers (with 5 drawers).
- Chest of drawers (with 7 drawers).
- Wardrobe.
- Lots of toys and stuff.
- Dummies, bibs, burp cloths, muslin cloths, etc.
- And all the other stuff...

Is anyone else as bad as this? I pray that someone out there is, because I feel like I'm losing control of my spending  xx

Trust me if I had the money I would be exaclty like this! I know right when I get the money I will go get all the big stuff! I have plenty of clothing but I still need a crib, swing, changing table, dresser, bottles, everything important lol.

goodness graciousness! i don't even think i'd have enough money to buy that much even with the help of my parents!! I am getting the opportunity to go through a lot of my friends' daughters' hand-me-downs.

If i had the money to be spending on Kayla, I'd be buying something new everyday. I even had to beg OH to let me buy hair bows the day we registered at target.

i think its quite fortunate i'm poor otherwise i would be exactly the same Ness! [i hope you dont mind me calling you ness but its just a lot quicker than typing out your full name :haha:]

i have copmpletely lost interest in buying things for myself and now only seem to be able to get excited about buying things for LO..xx

I'm the same everytime i go out i buy something for her so she has so many clothes and toys and my husband always comes home with something for her too lol. I feel guilty now if i spend money on me and not on here its crazy!

it gets worse when LO is born

Oh God, don't tell me that :haha:  !

I've not spent it all in the one go of course, it's been over the past 8 months :) not many people I know have had little boys any time recently, although OH's mum's friend has given us some clothes (but a lot are tiny baby sized, so doubt that we will get to use them :( !) and also OH's auntie is due her little boy 4 or 5 weeks after me, so she'll be a jammy git and get tonnes of hand-me-downs from us because we won't get through it all haha :).

I didn't bother with a changing table as I kept hearing mixed reviews about them, some people said they couldn't live without them and others said they bought them, only to end up changing bubs on the floor on a changing mat because they felt safer (and I think I'd fall into the latter category anyway ).

And F*CK! Everytime someone mentions 'everything important' or something along those lines, I remember I've still to buy a monitor :dohh:. Don't know why I keep forgetting to buy one :haha:.

Haha, course not :) call me what you like :flower: well as long as it's nice :haha:, I don't even have a lot of money myself as I don't work, etc. But I'm lucky that my parents still give me pocket money (God, it's quite embarassing to write that, despite the fact that I'm massively grateful for it!) and will be giving me it up until bubs is born :)

I hate buying things for myself, the only things I've bought for myself in the past 8 months are:

- A bigger pair of jeans  (although they're only 1 size bigger than my original jeans, which are now too small, but these jeans are too big so have to wear a belt, grr :dohh:).
- A new bikini (me and OH wanted to go swimming but my colossal boobs were too big for my bikinis, and now they're too big for my new one :dohh:!)
- Lots and lots of food .

Everything else has went on AJ :).

Hope you's are all having fab pregnancies, and QuintinsMommy, hope you're loving being a mummy :D!

Ooh, ooh, and MissMammaToBe!! ONE MONTH LEFT FOR US! :cloud9: Sorry, excitement overload
