remained really really tired even though they are in 2nd tri? I know I am only just in it really and I have had a virus but I keep waiting to feel more with and to stop feeling dizzy when I stand up etc. :nope:

I know I shouldn't moan as I have not had really any bad morning sickness and I feel guilty for whinging but I would love to just feel more with it and 'normal' iykwim?

Thanks :thumbup:

I was really tired until I started eating more red meat and spinach.
Your body might be asking for more iron intake.

Now Im still tired and need a nap some days, but I used to nap everday so it has improved!

Me :sleep:

I'm in bed by 9 almost every night now and don't get up til about 8 the next morning. Plus I'm still waiting for the glow that people keep talking about :shrug:

Pregnancy is so hard isn't it :hugs:

I have only started having more energy in the last few days. Even so i am still tired and have had a nap on the sofa this afternoon.

Thanks for your replies :hugs:, thinking about it maybe I do need more iron :blush: I dont tend to eat a huge amount of red meat.

Pregnancy is hard! I know woman do it all the time but that doesnt mean its easy! Trying to carry on as normal at work etc can really take it out of you.

I am still very tired and I think this is it for the rest of the pregnancy plus onto two kidlets.... I am just getting used to functioning exhausted.

oohh lily12, is it true a lack of iron can make you feel so tired? I don't really eat much meat and iron rich food so I'll try and include it more and see if I can gain some energy. Thanks for that. xxx

I still get tired quickly but I don't have the same exhaustion I had in 1st tri but it was only maybe 3 weeks ago that I noticed a difference.

I don't eat a lot of red meat either but my MW was really impressed with my iron levels. I've tried to work out where I'm getting it from and I can't for love nor money but it's in all sorts of things (like fortified cereals) so look at your whole diet, unless you particularly want to have more red meat. Your MW should have got your iron levels checked from the first blood test and I got my results at my second MW appointment.

Ohh yes, signs of anemia are:
* Fatigue
* Pale skin
* A fast or irregular heartbeat
* Shortness of breath
* Chest pain
* Dizziness
* Cognitive problems
* Cold hands and feet
* Headache

Try to eat red meat at least twice a week and the same for spinach.
Those foods have alot of iron in them.
When youre pregnant your body is pumping more blood, so youre more prone to have iron deficiency .

The first blood test is usually early on in pregnancy though, and your body is pumping more and more blood, so you can become anemic after the first blood check.
My first appointment was at 6 weeks for instance.

If you don't have an iron deficiency then i think you still have a chance to get some relief from the fatigue.
I didn't start reaping the benefits of the 2nd tri until I was about 15 weeks.

Hoping your fatigue clears up, if not, don't feel ashamed of taking naps. Obviously your body needs it!
