Has anyone gotten an infection after a section?

If so, what did you feel like? What were your symptoms? How bad were they? I'm feeling just a little concerned...

I had a tiny area open up with some oozing. One of the pieces of skin tape was put over an ingrown hair and the bacteria didn't let that small portion of the wound heal properly until I removed the tape, cleaned it out and reapplied the tape.

So no symptoms, just signs. Do you have any signs of infection? (redness, swelling, heat?)

I did, 2 weeks after a c/s...there were no visible signs at all. I felt fine, maybe a bit feverish.
But, when I pumped a bottle of breast milk, it felt boiling hot! So, I finally took my temp and it was like 104. Doctor said go to the hospital where it was determined I had an infection on the inside incision. I stayed for a few days on IV antibiotics and all was fine (they even let me keep baby in the room with me in the little nursery bassinet).
I got the infection from DTD too soon

How you feeling? with in doubt, go get checked out. Its easier to go to the doctor and maybe get a prescription of antibiotics than it is to end up hospitalized because you put it off.

I had a very serious infection after my emcs which left me in hospital for a month 5days after my son was born I had no symptoms until the infection was so advanced..if you have any concerns please go and see a doctor!

I guess I don't exactly know what the symptoms are. I felt a bit feverish, but then my nose started running and getting stuffy. Then it hurt my bladder when I went to the bathroom. But it doesn't anymore. The incision doesn't feel very well, but it could be the fact that a week later I still have my staples in. And I'm beyond exhausted! More so than with my other two. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow. I guess I'll ask her.

You can get a Bladder infection from the catheter, its rare but occasionally happens.

Definitly see what your doctor says :), always better to get it checked out in any time of doubt.

Just really painful, felt stinging, had a horrid smell and went blistered.
I had infection in my scar for 3months.

I guess that's rare though.

I had a small area that was a bit oozy because the skin there wasn't really lined up properly so hasn't fully closed. Doctor just told me to clean it twice a day with hydrogen peroxide. I had my staples taken out a week after the section and the skin down there felt so much better immediately. The staples were irritating the skin and it was pulling and hurting. Hopefully you feel a lot better once those are out.

Yeah, it felt much better after the staples were out, but then it got really itchy for a few days. Also, one of my sutures is sticking out of my skin... weird...

Yes I did, about 5 days post c section I think. I was feverish and very shaky. Checked my temperature after a lactation consultant pointed out I should go to the doctor, and it was 39 C already. Later that day I felt extremely cold and was shaking uncontrollably. After a 7 day course of antibiotics the infection cleared. There were no visible signs or redness, though. I think the reason for the infection may have been due to the fact I did not have much support and was doing too much too soon and possibly preventing the wound to start healing well inside.

I got a uterine infection 10 days pp and had to go back into hospital, wasnt nice
