hi i don't know whether ill be of much help but what i know is that the cervix doesn't close up during most of the month we have a mucous covering in the opening that keeps things from passing into the uterus. during ovulation the mucous is thinned , allowing sperm to pass into the cervix the womb and into the fallopian tubes to meet the egg at the right time and place...............hope this will help u
