Been on the pill then come off it and then gone back on?
This is what I did and my first period being back on the pill was just 6 days of spotting. I have also had every pregnancy symptoms going. Just wondering if anyone else had this and if its "normal" because the pill might be tricking my body into thinking its pregnant? Or just the pill messing up my hormones?
Or has no one else had this and its just me?
Desperately trying to search for answers!!

Hi i've had breaks in my pill when the doctor has advised me for medical reasons but i'm a bit confused on what you mean.

How long was the break? was it the 7 days out of 28 your supposed to stop taking the pill for? or do you mean you had a month off and then went back onto it ?

TBH the pill is designed to trick your body into thinking it's pregnant or partially the hormone levels could be too high, i would consult your doctor about your symptoms it could be you need to go onto another pill type.

Ive been on the pill yasmin for about 4 years and it was fine and I had no trouble. Then I stopped taking it for just over a month (yes was sexually active) and then decided to go back on it about 5 weeks ago. But since then like I said Ive had every pregnancy symptom going and dont remember having this when I went on it for the first time 4 years ago.
Just wondered if anyone else had gone back on and experienced this. I think it could be the hormones but I dunno. Going to test wednesday but just thought Id ask other peoples opinion in the mean time

Were you using other methods of protection when you were off the pill?

It might just be your hormones being messed up and confused (mine are at the moment, just come off a POP and no period...) but it is worth doing a test.

If you still don't feel right, go and see your Dr, just for peace of mind if anything.

If you were sexually active while not taking the pill you can most certainly be pregnant.

Ii recommend you take a test.
Although,irregular pill taking can mess up your cycles pretty bad.The pill containes a lot of hormones and they affect every part of your body so it's never good to create an imbalance.

No wasnt using any other protection. I think its my hormones that are messed up because I stopped and started the pill. Will test just to make sure though because Im well into my second month of taking the pill again...would have thought my hormones would of evened out by now?

it's quite likely if you wern't using protection then you could be pregnant. just test

I agree, do a test. then if nothing give things a little while to settle down and if you still have problems go to the docs about changing pill xx

OH is back from camp tomorrow so doing a test tomorrow. I dont feel pregnant anymore...I did but I dont now. I think my hormones were just everywhere cos I messed up my cycle.
Anyways testing tomorrow just to make sure =) will let you all know the result.

I mentioned to Nightkd that when I came off the pill after 4 years I got one regular period and then nothing for three months. I know our situations are not the same, but the pill is a touchy birth control method (as are most) and can really muck with you periods. Like you say, you should test. And maybe call your doctor?
