You will do best with a low carb diet. Restricting to under 70 carbs a day. I eat about 40 now. 6 for breakfast, 12 for lunch and 12 for dinner. I also eat cheese, peanut butter, and nuts for snacks if I'm hungry. We also have a few low carb chocolate bars and ice cream here in the US. I ended up going on insulin at the end of my 3rd pregnancy. I tried controlling my diet the way my nutritionist told me (eating 200 carbs a day) and my numbers kept creeping up despite adding insulin. I'm a normal weight and no family history of diabetes so I knew the type 2 diagnosis didn't make sense. I made them test me for type 1 antibodies and they were positive.
