I took a taste of LO's formula powder last night and it was bitter - yuck. Tastes horrible.

We are on our first big tin, so I dont really have anything to compare it to. We combifeed so the tin will last forever.

DH refuses to taste it - I think he thinks Formula is made from BM :dohh: I remember when my sister had kids about 5 years ago, I used to think it tasted good? (Yes, I am a taster of everything.)

It does not taste 'off' but got a definate bitter aftertaste?

Ha, formula tastes rank! My LO has Aptamil which tastes of really sweet, fishy condensed milk to me. It does have a weird after taste too. Both my kiddos love it though! They do change the make up of formula from time to time, like they added fish oil for DHA a while ago (hence it tastes of fish to me now) and various pre biotics have been added too so don't worry though if it tastes different to how it used to. It's still fine.

It's just the vitamins. A multivitamin tablet in your mouth will taste awful too if it starts to dissolve before you swallow it.

I had to taste some ready made formula while going through the airport, it was disgusting :haha:

I have tasted everything i have given LO (including my own milk). I think Aptamil tastes rank but Hipp tastes nicer. Seems like LO prefers Aptamil though, which surprises me as I think Hipp tastes the closest to BM out of the formula brands and does not smell of rotten eggs like Aptamil does.

My LO started off on SMA (I had intended breastfeeding so that's what the hospital gave us when it didn't work out). It tasted rank, but she is now on HIPP organic and it tastes so much better to me!

I can't even stand the smell of formula when its made up. But I've never been very good with milk products. I can smell they are about to turn a couple of days before they do, and I have never liked to drink milk myself. I think my dislike of formula is an extension of this.

Friends at a wedding recently were searching disgusting tasting alcoholic concoctions to subject the groom to. His brother wanted something WORSE than gin and milk... we did offer a carton of cow and gate but the offer was declined as a step too far.
