Having two 20wk scans because of 'fetal position and adiposity' ohh nooo :(

Had my 20 week scan last Thursday and baby was laying in a really awkward position so she couldn't take all the measurements. She told me I would have to come back this Thursday and hope baby had moved as still had to check heart and face.

All was fine, until I was reading the piece of paper with the scan findings on and came across 'view restricted due to fetal position and adiposity'. Googled adiposity and it's basically to do with the fat layers I think lol I'm only a size 12/14 surely that wouldn't have been too much fat to get through haha

Oh well at least I get two scans I guess! Roll on Thursday! xxxx

No idea haha she was a funny woman though to be honest, she didn't ask me to move around to try to move baby either lol. OH said it was because our scan was late afternoon and she wanted to go home xxxx

I'd have been a little offended :/ I had to have 2 anomaly scans because baby was lying funny... But it never mentioned belly fat on the report! And I am the same size as u with a good BMI!

For my 12 week scan, the tech bounced the probe on my stomach to get the baby to move. It took a little bit, but she did move eventually.

i had my scan on the 1st and they couldn't seen some things. i have to wait til the 4th of next month to make sure everything is ok though! be glad you get another scan so soon. i'm the same size as you are and i don't think it had anything to do with it. well, if it did they sure didn't say anything.. and its a good thing for them

The ultrasound tech nearly made me pee my pants at my 12 week scan lol :/ baby went to sleep right at an awkward moment so she proper jiggled my belly to get bubs to move. I was in pain from holding my pee in by the end lol.

I'd think myself lucky I was getting 2 scans tbh... Although I would be offended about the fat thing :/ but ur DH is probably right, she probably wanted to go home and get her tea haha.

I don't think that being a 12/14 would obstruct her view. I am a size 16 and she was able to see all the way to my spine (I wanted to make sure we weren't having twins as they run in my DH side). I have to go back and get another u/s because little one would hold still! But I take it as a chance to see LO again and I want to make sure everything is fine
