HCG - is this ok?

I had some severe intermitent pain in my abdomen on weds night and again thursday morning. Basically NHS Direct advised me to see a Dr so as we were away on holiday and I couldnt go to my GP we were told to got to the local A&E. They were really good - took swabs, bloods and gave me an internal ultrasound. They seemed happy that everything is in the right place and were confident that its not ectopic. phew.

So I've given the details with the letter from the gyni and scan results to my surgery who are going to forward them to the midwife and get her to look at it. The gyni recommended a follow up scan in about 2/3 weeks.

My question is: I've read through the gyni's notes/letter and I noticed that my blood test showed HCG:2640

Is that ok at 4 weeks 5 days?? I'm not sure what the averages are??

That looks like a wonderful number for almost 5 weeks to me but I don't know the average either

So if I read that right I'm almost 5 weeks LMP and therefore 2640 is very roughly just under the middle of the range of 18 - 7340 - Agreed????

If so I think I can be happy with that.

Sounds just about right from the look of that list.

Make sure they do that follow uo scan though, just to stop you worrying so much... ooo, youll get to see bean!!

On the scan notes it starts :

'Enlarged Uterus. A 0.5cm diameter intrauterine cycstic area is noted ? containing a tiny yolk sac, too early to see FH or fetal pole.'

Can anyone shed any light on why they would put a '?' and is the 'intrauterine cycstic area' the gestational sac??

Is anyone familiar with the jargon??

I wish I'd asked more questions. My hubby says I need to stop 'googling and obsessing'......if only it were that easy....

Oh Mervs mum. I really feel for you. I would be exactly the same as you and I can relate to how your hubby is feeling.

I have been googling my pre AF symptoms all day
