Hello Mothers and Mothers to be,
This is my first time on the website and i am really confused and worried about my hCG levels..I am 5 weeks and 5 days as of today and this is my first pregnancy. I went this past Monday to an ultrasound expecting to be 6 weeks and 5 days but was set back to 5 weeks and 2 days. The doctor was worried as well as I was, but i had blood work done and they came out to be at 15,200, on Thursday they came out to be 20,700. Since they did not double the doctor ordered another blood test today and they came out to be 21,900..The doctor said that they did not go up as much as she had hoped and I have another ultrasound Monday which places me a 6 weeks and 2 days..I'm hoping everything is okay! Has anybody had the same problems? if so what was the outcome?
Help?!

Check out this website:

I put your numbers in the calculator and it says you are doubling every 53 hours. The average is 48 hours so I wouldn't worry! Plus there is a wide variety/range of what levels could be depending on how far along you are. I don't think you have anything to be worried about right now!

Okay, thank you SO much! You have relieved some of my worry. I just hope that the ultrasound goes well!

HCG is not supposed to double every 48 hours once your levels hit 6000; doubling time slows down to 96 hours, so your numbers look good to me

Please keep us updated when you can. I agree with the ladies above.

Thank You So Much! :hugs:

I will keep you updated! My Ultrasound is tomorrow..I am super nervous and excited! It is good to know that everyone feels the same way..this definately helped me with the worry! I will post how the appointment went tomorrow, wish me luck!

Sending you tons of luck!
Hope all goes well!

Good luck tomorrow!! Let us know how everything goes! =)

Once your HCG levels reach a certain level they do NOT double ever 48hrs they double in 3 days. I was told and plus being a "OB" nurse that once your levels reach as high as 21,000 or more a ultrasound would be a better diagnostic tool than relying on your HCG levels. Hope this helps as I too was in sort of the same boat with you. My levels were checked at 17,356 and exactly 48 hrs it went to 29,949. It was a 72% rise. If you have a 60% rise in 2 days, it still means you are ok. praying for you :)

Update: Thank You Everyone for the Luck! The ultrasound went great! I got to see the beginning of the fetus and the little heartbeat! It was adorable:) The baby measured at exactly 6 weeks, which changes my due date to November 5th:) I go for another ultrasound on Tuesday the 20th to get an accurate measurement of the heart because it had just fromed and started beating, so it was too small to get the accurate measurement. The ultrasound tech measured what she could and the baby's heart measured 99 bpm, which she said was good:) Hopefully I will be able to hear the heartbeat Tuesday:) I am so happy, excited, and thankful the baby is doing good:) Please keep me in your thought and prayers throughout this pregnancy. I will post more updates later:) Once again, thank you all!:)
