Hi Everyone,
After lurking on this board and many others desperately seeking hope for the last few weeks, I promised myself that if I had a positive story I would share it. So, I signed up and want to share my story that may give others in my position hope. So, I recently got pregnant after our 3rd and final IUI. I was thrilled. The happiness was short-lived however. My HCG leves had initally started off great 13 DPO at 127. Then they only rose to 192 48 hours later and 24 hours after that they were at 198. My Dr. told us to take the methotraxate shot and help things end. Of course I wanted to be 150% sure before we did that. I went back three days later and my HCG was 461. The Dr. said she still thought I should take the shot but we could do another blood draw in 3 days. Well, my levels had doubled in 48 hours up to 1127. I was cautiously excited until my Dr. told me that it is likely ectopic and that I needed to have an ultrasound the next day. As I had researched and read every possible forum on the topic, I asked her about the possibility of a vanishing twin because I had two large follicles prior to the IUI. She basically blew me off saying there really is not much chance of that. Well...at my first ultrasound to find that ectopic pregnancy, my Dr. was shocked to see that there was a gestational sac and a yolk sac in the right spot. And a week later, there was a heartbea with a fetus measuring right on trackt! She has not idea what happened but right now everything is perfect. I know that through those terrible weeks of waiting and bad news, a few posts really helped keep my hope alive. I just want to pay that back. I hope this helps someone!
