So... Now that its been a few days since my BFP. I'm no longer having mixed emotions, i'm on board. Lol. I was the one who posted that even though me and my husband have been actively trying, including seeing a fertility dr the last few months cause i was diagnosed with pcos and my hubby with slow swimmers, second dose of clomid took though :) anyway (i'm getting to the pt) i was having mixed emotions now i'm not.

I had the first blood test monday after 3 BFPs, the nurse called the next day, and said my HCG's looked high, really good. monday was 30 days from my last period, so i think that means i'm considered four weeks? Anyway, wednesday (two days later) they had me come in for another blood test. The nurse calls me today and was like the HCG level went up, but not as much as we'd like to see, it went up 300 or something like that... I was like "so is that bad" and she was like "it can be, we usually expect the numbers to double every 48 hrs". So i was all upset this after noon, she's was like "we're do another blood test tuesday" So i was a bit upset at work, like I told a few people family and close work friends and i really don't wanna have to tell them i lost it. But I was reading the HCG chapter in "what to expect when you're expecting..." and it says as long as the levels are going up thats fine, don't get upset about the numbers, no two women are alike, lots of reasons for the numbers varying, ie wrong due date, multiples, taking diuretics (i took midol tuesday nite before i found out it was bad).

So should i be concerned? I'm not having any spotting, sometimes i've been having a sharp pain just for a second, i'm super bloated, but really those are the only symptoms i'm having. I was having other symptoms too a few days ago, nauseate, fatigue, headaches, backaches. So i'm also concerned the symptoms aren't as strong :/

I think you will be fine sweetie. They are going up and that's what matters...seems like all your other symptoms are right on so keep your chin up. Say a little prayer and then relax. It's in God's hands. sending you hugs and great thoughts!

ive always heard that if they don't double every 2 days it can usually mean miscarriage. but that is not always the case. fx everything is okay :)

:flower:

Don't worry about the sharp pains. I had those throughout, like little twinges. There is a lot going on down there so you will experience twangs and cramps throughout!

As far as the HCG, I have heard it should double, but I have also heard about women who had slow creeping HCG levels and they were fine. Let us know what your levels look like on Tuesday.

I know it is hard to not worry, but try not to. It is not good for you. Think positive thoughts (I know it's hard!) :flower::hugs:

every 48 hours is actually misleading, the American Preggo Association standard is doubling every 48-72 hours, so as long as it went up 66% or something like that its fine. Have a look at betabase: https://www.betabase.info/index.php

What are your numbers and dpo?

i am going to find out my numbers, I really am not sure. I will ask on tuesday. I'm pretty discouraged, guess it doesn't seem like its meant to be. My hubby keeps just saying be positive..

Good advice from your husband. There's nothing you can do about it one way or the other and unless you know what the numbers are, you dont' know how 'slow' the doubling is... stress is bad for you.
Be cautiously optimistic if you can manage, but I know its hard.
Hang in there!

Why not call tomorrow and get the numbers from them?

They only do the doubling in the first week really of pregnancy, after that they can slow down, my docs only ever tested to check they were doubling in the first week of my bfp's (5 in total this time round) which would normally be from 7-10dpo for me! Then they would check my hcg leveks every week because it can take longer to double. Try not to put too much faith in those numbers hun, as long as its on the rise and nothing bad is happening there is no reason to think the worst.:hugs:

wannab is so right. Mine were doubling then past 6000 they took three days to double. U should call and get your first levels and really try to figure out what DPO u were. DON"T read a ton into numbers as I have in the past and it is all good. Not worth the headache. I am sure your bean in ok and being stressed is not good for u or the baby. FX for u!!

My mom told me that her hcg levels were low and that they couldnt find anything on a u/s for about 7 weeks. so Im sure youll be fine hunny, but I know its just so overwhelming.

When I found out I was pregnant my hcg was about 144
and then 2 days later 264
it almost doubled but they are worried that its low

its very hard to know if youre on track with these things.

best of luck and many blessings =]

I should also share this site : https://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single
it can help you calculate your doubling time and show you what levels, and what doubling times are normal (it does slow down as you get further along).
