HCG to high?

I just got my blood work results back yesterday and at 8 weeks my count was 300,011 and at 5 weeks/4 days they were 23,000. My doctor said they were normal but now Im reading all over the place that they are extremely high and I could be at risk down syndrome or twins...etc.

Anyone on here have their levels checked at 8 weeks?

Was feeling great...now a bit worried .

Sorry hun I dont have any experience with this but did not wanted to R&R.
But according to me if your doctor is not concerned then it should be fine. My advice just stay away from google

Hey Jenn,

Didnt you have an US early? They wouldve seen multiples. No ones told me my HCG levels yet ( I find that out in 2 weeks) but, from what Ive read, 300,000 at 8 weeks is a little high, but not cause for alarm....try and relax dear Do they want to see you again before your normal appt? Dont worry, itll be ok

It could be twins, but you won't know until you get an ultrasound. One thing you can do is take deep breath and breathe easier... having numbers that are nice and high mean your baby is doing exactly what it needs to! Trust me, you'd rather see the high numbers than low ones or numbers that are going down.

Mine at 4.5 weeks was 30,000... I've heard the higher the number, the stronger the pregnancy. My nurse wasn't worried either. Try to relax, easier said than done!

Did you have a scan? If so, they most likely would have seen if it were twins. I agree with a pp. High hCG levels often (not always though) indicate a strong pregnancy. I have read about a link between high levels and Downs too. I would trust your doctor though hon, and try not to worry.xxoxo

I had an ultra sound at 5 weeks/ 4 days and they said they were pretty sure there was only one baby in there and the heart beat was 114 bpm at that time.

At that time the Dr said my levels were 23,000 and all was well. This time at 8 weeks my Dr said 300,011 and it was good news. I was totally fine with this until I saw the charts and read about down syndrome associated with high numbers .

My appointment isnt until April 9th.

My next appt is the 9th as well. Chin up Jenn everythings going to be fine. Your doctor wouldve told you if there was cause for concern. Im sure its hard, but try not to worry. AND not too long until we get to see our beans again

With my daughter mine were 290,000 at almost 9 weeks and like you i panicked, googled like mad, and was so worried about down's syndrome. But she is ok
