Hi there,

I'm currently 11+3 with my second pregnancy. My first sadly ended due to a molar pregnancy back in January.

Anyway, as any ladies who has been through a miscarriage will appreciate, I'm absolutely terrified this time round that I'll miscarry again. I bought an Angelsounds doppler hoping that it would put my mind at rest until my 12 week scan on 10th July.

So far I haven't heard a heartbeat but I've heard loads of whooshing which I believe is the placenta. If you hear the placenta is this a good sign that all is well with the baby?

I have had a couple of scans at 7 and 9 weeks and both were absolutely fine, we saw a lovely heartbeat and the baby looked perfect. I'm probably worrying for nothing but I've hardly had any symptoms this time apart from being tired pretty much all the time. I'm so worried I'll have another missed miscarriage and will find out the bad news at my scan again.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give. I have 4 more sleeps until I know my fate.

Thanks in advance,

Gem x

It sounds like a pretty good thing! You're so lucky to have that confirmation on hand whenever you need it. :D

It certainly can't be a bad sign! Apparantly, a healthy placenta sounds like the wind rushing through the trees. Good luck at your scan, sure you will be fine :hugs:

thats great news honey i cant wait till i get my doppler so i can listen to things like that it should come in a couple of days :D its really reassuring not long till 10th now hun keep me posted xxx

I am 11 weeks 4 days and have not yet found the heartbeat with the doppler. I hear lots of whoosing too. I hope it is a good sign.

I also have my scan on Friday, only 4 more sleeps :)
Hope all goes well for you

Congrats, don't be disappointed if you can't find the heartbeat, sometimes you can't find it until after 15 weeks, it sounds like horses hooves galloping, very fast. If you saw the heartbeat that is a good sign! I saw ours at my first scan at 8 weeks and didn't hear the heartbeat until 16 weeks, my doc tried to find it at 12 weeks but nothing, she said not to panic sometimes it can't be heard until later on. Good Luck to you!!

Thats all i can hear, i still can't find the heartbeat but my scan was all perfect last week so i think the placenta is a good thing to hear! x

I just keep finding my own pulses... :dohh: (I must have two strong arteries running down either side, in like a v shape, towards my groin).

So all I know is that I am alive - woohooo! :happydance:

Thanks so much ladies! I'm still worrying but only 3 more sleeps! The placenta sounds very odd, it does definately sound like wind through trees!

Pingu - we're almost identical in our dates. I also got my BFP on 14th May!
