Heard the heartbeat with Sonoline B

I found mine today on an angelsounds doppler at 9+6. Omg it was fantastic to hear it as I've been so worried! I counted it at roughly 170bpm- although it was difficult to count. Didn't record it though as I've only got headphones to use with it but thats a really good idea!

I borrowed my works one last night and found baby's heartbeat almost instantly. But then, it's a very expensive Doppler. The ones we use at work are nearly £400 new. So I just ordered a sonoline to use every now and again. Mainly for extra bonding when I'm worrying. I did find that I had to have the volume turned down quite low though, otherwise baby would wriggle away and hide. Most amazing sound ever!!

Girly- thats good you can use your works doppler. Where do you work? I work in a family planning clinic and there's a scanning machine there- its sooo tempting but I don't want to get told off. Might have a sneaky go when I'm on my own but have no idea how to do it!

I'm a community nurse so it's actually used to assess the circulation in patients legs. But works just as well as a fetal Doppler. Lol. As I'm a lone worker, we have to take it out fairly regularly anyway but could never get away with having it for more than 1 night.

I'd be so tempted to try the scanning machine if I was you!! Lol. Are you likely to be able to get chance to try it without being caught?

Hmm not sure. I don't work in family planning as such, i'm a sexual health nurse but we share a building. Its very tempting I must admit and will probably find an opportunity somewhere! Haha that's great that you can use such a high tech bit of kit, I'm jealous! The things we do ey... I thought ttc was the obsessive bit! Is this your first bubs? Can't wait for the 12 week scan...

I think if I were you I'd have to find a way somehow. Lol. They are good little machines. It worked out well as I was running doppler clinic yesterday so it wasn't like I didn't have an excuse to have it. Lol. I know. This is just as bad as TTC. Although, I think if I could scan myself I'd be obsessing over that too. Good job I can't. I know there are a couple of midwives on here who have.

This is our first baby but second pregnancy. More cautious this time as we had an early mc around Christmas but feeling more positive everyday! Is it your first? Only 3 weeks until our 12 week scan :happydance:

I found our peanut's heartbeat at 6weeks and a few days. I had my first u/s dating scan this past wednesday and verified it was the heartbeat. we found out we are having twins, but one kept hiding so we didn't see it just the gest. sac, but last night i played with my Doppler same as yours the so. b and we found two different heartbeats faster than my own so congrats to you finding your too

Yes its my first. Have had 2 early mc's close together last year. I think it does make you more weary when you've had a mc. I didn't even think about that risk the first time. But like you I'm taking it a day at a time and feeling slightly less stressed as the days go on. Still on knicker watch but not as bad as before lol. Think I will find a way to use the scanner at some point but for now will obsess with my doppler, don't even know how to use a scanner but it can't be that hard can it! ;)

Here are a couple articles....I know one is about ultrasound but due to the similarities (using ultrasonic waves to reflect) I thought I would post it too...It's hard to find conclusive evidence (I'll hand you that) but I am still going to limit it....maybe twice a week.

I've been umming and ahrring over a doppler for a couple of weeks now. I've even been watching the sonoline b ones on ebay. But I have been worried about over exposure and if I'm honest I don't know whether I'll be able to contain myself to the "safe" lavels! These articles are interesting. The 1st one was cited by a fun magazine???? The 2nd was more convincing for me. So although I would love to have one and the reassurance considering I have zero symptoms! I think I will hold off, but glad you guys are finding heartbeats. It must be wonderful x

So I had to play with mine for a little while but I was able to find LO heartbeat Saturday night. It was so amazing. Also makes me feel a little less worried!

A few days ago I started feeling a really sharp pain just below my rib cage and above my pelvic bone on the right side. I knew rationally this is nowhere near my little bean and most likely a muscle pull from sleeping or stretching too hard which is exactly what it feels like. A constant pain that gets worse when I move suddenly or just get up. I didn't call my doctor because it was the weekend and I figured it would just go away. I woke up at 2am today to pee and the pain was really bad. For about a moment I had a panic because it felt like the pain was moving a bit lower (even then it wouldnt be near the baby) but I got freaked out that something was wrong. I grabbed the sonoline and it took me about 10 minutes but I found the heartbeat and I have to say I felt soooo much better and more relaxed.

I was prepared to call the doctor and most likely come in for an ultrasound which is what I would have done if I didnt have the sonoline which, for me, would have taken hours of my time and exposed the baby to an unnecessary ultra sound not to mention the hours of my time spent nervous waiting for the doctors office to open and possibly even waiting a day for an appointment or even worse, if I started feeling worse pain and convinced myself to go to the ER and exposed myself to other sick people risking an infection or worse not to mention hours and hours of my life.

The peace of mind I get with it is invaluable.

Eeeek! First app is today hope it's good news so I can buy my doppler!

App went great saw beany and was measuring right on track, hb was close to 160 and I just ordered my doppler yesterday :happydance:

Yay!!! Always a relief. Happy for you. I'm nervous about my 12 week scan... its coming up on the 8th April. So scared that beany won't be ok. It does really help hearing the HB though but don't panic if you can't find it everytime as you're still early. Also have a full bladder when you use it and push down quite firmly.

I've also bought a sonoline b today....next day delivery :-D my symptoms have pretty much disappeared so I can't wait to try it and see if I can find a heartbeat just to give myself peace of mind!

Just remember not to freak out if you don't find it right away. I watched youtube videos so I had a good idea where to look and what to expect. It changes a bit depending on how bloated I am and how full my bladder is etc. Prepare for some weird sounds down there but once you pick up the heartbeat you know it. Its like a train or galloping horses. Its an incredible sound. Let us know how it goes!
