Heart burn, took Prilosec-help

Hello,

I am feeling weird,confused and now sick:

I had the worst heart burn today which started yesterday and I stupidly took Prilosec and not sure if it is safe (If any BFP) I completely forgot about the possiblilty of pregnancy because the test showed negative the symptom was gone few weeks.

I was thinking this might be a Pre-M symptom which I dreaded to find out and wanted to try 6 months before I got tested for thyroid etc. What happens if a preg.woman has thyroid issues? does it get treated? I read thyroid issues affecting baby development.

I am going to the Doc monday but the heart burn is excruciating.
I always had indegestion that sometimes led to heart burn but nothing like this...any remedies?
Feels like my esophagus is on fire ! does this happen in pregnancy? Just hoping I am but weird pain.

Hi there, in the UK we advise against the use of prilosec in pregnancy but from what I gather from your post is that you're probably not pregnant, is that right? You tested and it was negative?

What is making you think you have a thyroid prob?

Heartburn is so miserable, if you can't get to doc before Monday, pop to the pharmacy and ask for an antacid that's safe to take in pregnancy (just to be on the safe side)....

I too am on prilosec. I was told by my primary, a Gastro specialist and a pharmacist that it was ok to use while trying to become or became pregnant. I would perfer to not take anything BUT I take 1/4 cup of aloe each morning and I believe that is safe to take and it has done wonders. My pre-natal has a probiotic in it too.
