Hello, any FAM users out there?

Hello out there,

I'm a 30yo married female. DH and I are currently not TTC and we are deciding on starting a family in 2016; we know we cannot wait too long. I told him after 35 it's too late for me; I don't want to take that kind of risk to myself or baby.

Since age 20 I used HBC and hated it, so I stopped last year. I've been using FAM but we have always had trouble with it. Short luteal phases and erratic temps in luteal phase (they keep going below coverline many times in luteal phase). So I'm here looking for help with that, and with family planning.

DH doesn't want girls. I want a girl. DH wants 1 child; I want 2. Etc.

To be honest though, we are not really sure that we want to bring children into this world, since we believe things are collapsing and there may be a total economic collapse. But at the same time, we know we want kids...we are not sure what to do.

Very interested in comments/thoughts from the fellow ladies regarding these topics, and look forward to meeting you all.
