help and advice needed

hi all you might have come accross me from other threads but being new to all this i really could do with some help . I m/c on Christmas eve at 11 weeks and had a DNC all went well. Im 40 1st BFP . AF arrived 31 days after DNC and now using clearblue ovulation kit to chart my ovulation. On 1st cycle .

now cd 17 and have been testing since cd 11 . No sign of surge . my questions are but maybe im just overthinking this and sorry if i give TMI

I have counted from the 1st day of my flow of AF and not the first spotting which was two days earlier . Should i have counted from the day of the spotting which in that case i may have missed the surge ?

Me and OH were "practicing" before i started to test and in this case would we be in with a shot this month if surge happened two days or so before i tested . if that is the case when should i test or expect AF . I counted the 26th of Jan as cd1 ( but spotted 2 days before this )


In my head there are three possibilities

1) Counted wrongly and missed the surge
2) Am not ovulating this month
3) Having a much longer Cycle and O/V still to happen

one other thing i feel like AF is about to arrive any min now .... bloated , feeling full and having some dull twinges but way to early for the witch to show her face .

All and any thoughts and advise welcome . Even if it is to relax and stop over thinking things as i am trying to tell myself

Hey hun, post-miscarriage cycles are ALWAYS a bit whacky. Even if they're regular, a lot of women notice that their cycles are longer or shorter than they used to be and they experience different symptoms during the month.

I have 31-33 day cycles. I don't get a +OPK until around CD19 and I usually ovulate around CD21. I just ovulate late and have somewhat short luteal phases. I think it's more likely that you will ovulate late (or possible not ovulate this month, also common 1st cycle post-MC) then that you missed the surge altogether. I don't count light spotting as my first day of AF. Even if you did, CD13 is still on the early side for ovulation, although obviously still possible.

I say keep testing and see if you don't just get a late surge. If nothing happens and you're not pregnant, try again next month. If you STILL don't get a surge next month, I would check in with your doctor.

thanks so much for the reply Topanga , im driving myself crazy but you make alot os sense . Ill keep testing until Surge or AF arrives . Nought else for it

Im so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC on Dec 1st, everything came out easily, so thought everything would get right back on track... not exactly the case. I drove myself MAD that first cycle, took about 50 OPKs and HPTs, which were all positive from left over HCG until CD25, had a temp spike at CD27, so thinking I *may* have ovulated... but then got AF on CD33 after 6 days of spotting. Cycle #2 was alot more normal, I ovulated dead on time (CD16), but had light spotting form CD8-14 and did not fall PG despite perfect BDing. Now, Im cycle #3 and started spotting CD10 (Blah!) and now on CD16, still no +OPK. Hoping I will ovulate soon as well. Im a very impatient person so, I have already scheduled an OB appt to try and get an answer to this craziness if I dont catch the egg this time. Soooo, to answer your question, you could very well ovulate late! Fingers crossed that you do! Dont give up

Well i dont think i need to add anything that Topanga hasn't said hi: toppy gal)

She's right after a MS cycles are screwed up for a while, since mine in Aug 12 mine are all over the place, and I like you was OPK'ing every day from CD1 (just to be totally sure) and i dint' get a + at all i really dont think i missed it as i started testing twice a day but still nothing I think you have to just keep testing until you get + or AF comes.

sorry ladies, it used to be frustrating when the cycle after mc becomes wacky.so would advise you to visit O&G to what you suppose to do so as to relieve anxiety
