At six months your baby is hitting a growth spurt and a maturing milestone. A woman's breastmilk is continually changing in makeup and this is one big one.
A lot of mama's think that baby isn't getting enough food or sustinance, but even the WHO (world health organization) agrees that 12 months exclusive breastfeeding isn't detrimental to baby's growth or development (in fact quite the opposite.
If you WANT to continue bf exclusively, just keep feeding Tyler as he wishes, he's trying to cue your body to make more mature milk, and more of it for him so it's better sustaining, and better for his age. I imagine if you feed this way he should be coming around in the next week to ten days.
Another thing that happens about now, is that your breasts will actually feel LESS FULL. You might think you aren't making enough milk for him. DO NOT BE ALARMED. This is a normal change in BF'ing. If baby has the same number of diapers and he's staying hydrated, you are doing awesome.
Hang in there!
(BTW I want to reitterate that if you choose to wean at this time I completely understand. But I wanted you to know that many of these changes that seem like weaning cues are really not, and if you want to try to pursue BF beyond 6 months just hang in there, maybe contact your local lactation consultant etc.)
