My best friend is starting to TTC in February with her husband of 1 year. I want to be pleased for her, but I honestly don't know how I am going to cope if she succeeds. I've been TTC for 26 cycles and recently gave up, now NTNP.

I'm thinking I'll just have to be supportive & help her out with baby stuff (they are very poor) but I just feel completely down as her family has a history of high fertility, so chances are it won't take them long.

I don't know whats wrong with me, the doctors won't look at me seriously because my DH literally can't get a sperm test to the hospital. He's done a home sperm test which says his count is normal, but it doesn't tell you about the sperms quality.

Anyway the doctors point blank refuse to check me without a good sperm test from DH. Yet they don't provide any support for getting the sperm test to the hospital (which is a good 8 miles away) & nobody in our family drives.

I'm in a real catch 22 situation

Our hospital has a facility in the Andrology department for men to produce their sample. Admittedly is is not very salubrious and DH hated it so did at home and drove in, but it is a possibility. He will have to produce in the hopital on the day of your egg retrival.

I find it so frustrating because my DH won't do this. He says he won't be able to "perform" in a hospital. He has performance issues at home also sometimes, but I can well believe him. I wouldn't like to try & get it off in a hospital either!

I'm so sorry!

I had two friends who were TTC in 2011 with no success. Then, one became pregnant in December 2011 and the other tested with me on Mother's Day last year and got her BFP after having taken a break and gone back to TTC for a month or two. I was devastated. She doesn't understand how I feel and constantly makes insensitive comments. I sincerely hope that your friend knows how hard TTC is or has been for you and doesn't make it any harder on you than it has to be.

My DH didn't like it either. But he did try. It was fine to do it for the SA, but not on EC day as the quality of the sperm decreases. In the end they gave him viagra and i was delayed going into theatre by an hour!
