Hello Lovely ladys

I need some advice and just wondered if any of you knew anything about Day 2/3 cycle blood test. I have been having blood tests done at different periods of my cycle to establish fertility problems. Day 21 result came back as not enough progestion to ovulate,I now understand all that. What I dont understand is the latest blood results back, this was blood taken on day 2/3 of my period. The doctor was not available today to discuss results and now have to wait until Tuesday :(

The receptionish did read the following results to me but meant nothing to her or me,so am really worried. Be greatful if anyone could put this in to simple terms and if my results are gd or bad.Your opinions would be greatful

Day 2/3 cycle blood test

Testosterone : 3.3

SHBG : 24

FAI : 13.8

Be very greatful for anyones help

Thanks

Nat

this site may help you.i dont know about the stuff you have mentioned, only heard of testosterone

Hi, i had bloods done around the same point in my cycle.

I don't fully understand my results either.

My prolactine is high its 643 should be 500.
My testosterone is 4.7 should be 2.9

i don't no what the others stand for sorry.

Nor do i understand what it means to have high testosterone, but i'd guess at 3.3 they would class it as being slightly high? if 2.9 is avg.

Keep me posted on what you find out.

i've had an ultrasound scan too as they think i could have pcos, they dont seem worried about my testosterone level either, only my prolactine? whos knows eh

Thankss for reply, wasnt given a Prolatine result so clueless on that hun. Thanks for the info on the Testosterone very helpful.
I have a scan on Monday called an Hycosy,is this what you had? dreading it.I am wondering if I have PCOS because of my weight and progestion problem. So fed up was told to loose 2 stone on 15th Dec or they wouldnt give me chlomid, cut out everything and have lost 16 lb now but its stalled arhhhh.
How long have you been trying for hun? sorry if thats a personal question ignore me. I very rarely venture into this room ,sadly I am in the support loss forum after loosing 3 angels. Now I am having additional problems with fertility arhhhh

Thank you for replying hun

you're in the uk so yours is in a differnet measurement. https://www.goodhope.org.uk/departments/pathweb/refranges.htm

testosterone raised, usually indicates PCOS (especially if taken with irregular cycles, low prog and no ovulation)

SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) is slightly low (should be 26-110). https://www.digitalnaturopath.com/cond/C655233.html this may help. Also indicates pcos. I'd be asking now for cd3 FSH and LH which should confirm it.

not a clue what FAI is... actually, yup, its free androgen index :dohh: this is 'Free androgen index (total testosterone x 100/SHBG)' and I think that makes yours high. the Dr told me mine was high at 8.4

Hi,

So sorry to hear of your losses hun.

I feel bad for being over here in the long term ttc, but seem to be getting more information on everything here than anywhere else. We haven't used protection for 3 years, just used the pull out method lol how silly of us eh. july 09 we properly started trying and amazingly we caught straight away.

12th Oct i had a mmc, we thought we was 13wks i mc naturally and from what the docs said the baby hadnt grown past 6wks. 7wks later i still hadnt had a visit from af so visited the docs.......i basically expressed my concern of get pregnant again as i have really irregular cycles have since being 15, went on the pill at 21 for 4 years, came off it at 26 and am now 29 and nothing has helped regulate them.

So from that the doc said she wanted to get to the bottom of why af is all over the place, and said i should have bloods taken in the first 5 days of cycle and have an unltrsound "Transvagina" ultrasound is what the letter from hospital said.

So when af arrived i went for bloods and got my results (as i mentioned above) had my scan on 29th dec - it was basically like an ultrasound youd have when pregnant, but they insert it inside you - think they get more detail that way. and they just checked my tubes and ovaries etc.

got the results back a week later and it confirmed i have several small cysts on both ovaries.

So having spoke with a doc again they said they want to take my bloods again just to be sure the prolactine isnt high due to mc. so i had them taken yesterday.

i should have results next week, and next friday i'm seeing the doc to see what to do next.

we've been bd every other day since last af, and i've been doing opks and havent got a + yet so dont think i'm ovulating yet. i'm on cd39 and still no sign of af.

Sorry to go, just thought i'd explain all my back ground.

i have no other symptoms of pcos, i just have irregular periods.....so i was surprised when they said i had cycts.

i've never heard of the scan your having - have you googled it?

that makes my testosterone really high then.....wow

I think my testosterone has been as high as 5.5 (had to go find my medical records lol)

i think i'm only at the beginning of this long journey to getting my mini me :S

dont be so sure hon, for some people it happens spontaneously, even with pcos.

tell me if i'm asking you too personal questions, but i see from your ticker youve had 3 mc....how do you find the strength to carry on after 3. i struggle after 1

not really anythng else I can do... it happened, I wish that it'd turned out ok, but it didn't. All you can do is try and keep your chin up, and know that even with 3, the chances of the next one sticking is still 60%, higher in circumstances where you can reduce the issues that you have that can cause m/c.
I do think about them alot, how they'd be nearly 7, nearly six and 3 and a half now.I wont ever forget how good it felt to be pregnant, even for such a short time, and those things drive me to get there, to somehow be a family, be it biologically or through adoption once we've exhausted IUI/IVF.

I'm sorry for your loss hon

Thanks hun, i'm trying to be positive!

I really hope you get your family soon x

Hey Lovely Ladys

Hopefully it will happen for us all one day because the prospect of never having a baby here with me feels me with fear. Just wish my GP was open at weekends to discuss my results fully, also got the worry of the hycosy on monday.
keep me updated on how you all progress

Hugs
Nat x

cant remember what the hycosy was, is it the same as an hsg (dye in the uterus/tubes+ xray)?

Hi Hun

Yep thats a Hycosy description not sure what HSG is though
Appaently alot of people fall after a good clear out from the dye

yup, that happened for me with my last m/c... it was done beginning of nov, and I fell pg in jan (same cycle as I have irregular af). it was slightly uncomfortable when the cathether thing went in, but not 'pain'. The rest of it was smooth sailing :)
