Okay so for starters I am completely and absolutely broke, so nobody suggest antacids. What I need to know, is do any of you ladies have a natural remedy for heartburn? Been getting to the stage where it is nearly causing me to vomit. I cried earlier because of how bad it is and it wakes me up in the middle of the night which means DF gets woken up.

Please help, everything I eat seems to be doing it too me (bub is big so that might be why). Its not just spicy foods; bread, cereal, milk, eggs, meat, salad etc is causing it and it's getting to the point where I want to drill a hole in my chest.

So yeah, any suggestions?

Try baking soda. It always helped my aunt with heartburn and she gets if VERY frequent. dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water. Some online instructions: Bananas act as a natural antacid in the body, Elevate Your Head While You Sleep, Chamomile Tea has been used to help neutralize stomach acid, some people say natural apple cider vinegar helps, Fresh ginger is one of the oldest remedies for heartburn

Peppermint is supposed to help? Gaviscon is my best friend at the mo! X

i agree with this comment bananas work for me make sure to avoid things like orange juice and greasy foods too

Maybe milk? It always helps indigestion anyway, haven't tried it for heartburn but its worth a try!

Milk helps me but gaviscon liquid is the best. We can get it free on prescription here though x

a glass of milk or peppermint tea helps me

Milk makes it much worse for me, it settles it for about 5 minutes then it comes back with a vengenance.

Until last night I was having vinegar to try and get rid of the heartburn and it did help some, it was the only thing we have in the house. I have gaviscon now, but vinegar did help. And baking soda + water as another poster has said.

For me milk and mints help! I would imagine that any slightly alkaline food or drink would help though as it would neutralise the acid somewhat!
ETA: Apparently chewing gum is helpful for heartburn as the saliva acts as a buffer, helps force the acid back down and encourages the stomach to speed up digestion! Not tried it but it does make sense!

Beca

I'm eating peppermints like CRAZY! Its the only thing getting rid of the Heart Burn at this point!
