i have already made some avacado for my son. he really liked it. i'm so happy to make my own baby food.

my question is: is it ok to buy fruits and vegies from places like walmart? i've read about pesticides and nitrates and i've read to try to find organic. just a little worried about it! if i have to buy organic then it'll be too much trouble.

I have never bought organic unless it was cheaper than regular. You should be fine. There really isnt enough for it to harm you.

I bought a mix of organic and regular produce for baby food. I think whatever is fresh and available to you, is fine. All fruits and veggies need a good washing before use anyway, so that's the most important thing. If organic isn't available, or too costly, regular produce is also nutritious, and far better than store-bought baby food.

Most foods you will peel the skin off of before pureeing… so my theory is that solves some of the pesticide problem. With washing and peeling I figure it still better than jar food, even if it's not organic. At least that's what I tell myself. :)
