so LO is 17mths and we have co-slept for last 14months and bf's at bedtime and through the night. i was really hoping to bf for a yr so feel v proud to have this far , i now feel its time to stop...for us both. neither of sleeps well and i think its best in the long run.

so OH is on leave soon so we're going to move LO into her new room which weve spent lots of daytime getting used to it. we have agreed not to do cc'ing as its not our style so im thinking pick up/put down or rubbing hand/back but not picking up - still not sure tho.

any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

UPDATE: so last night we did the usual routine only this time i didnt bf, gave lo a sippy cup of warm milk (she had a little bit but didnt ask for bm). i said goodnight and went downstairs. OH then cuddled and consoled her and tried to put her down a few times with no luck. After 45 mins she went to sleep on her own (this makes it 745pm) and she woke at 9pm for a min or so and OH settled her and then not a peep .....and check this out, shes still asleep now!

im so pleased for her and hope the next few nights are as good. im sad not too fed /sleep with her (i blubbled for like an hr last night) but this is right thing for us and im sooo happy enjoyed a full nights kip.

Personally I like the No Cry Sleep Solution. It takes longer than CC/CIO but it really fits with my determination to always respond and never break his trust in me. LO now has a bedtime pattern (I hate the word routine) of into his night things, then in the darkened bedroom a feed followed by a cuddle, into his cot awake. He wiggles until he's comfy, then sucks his thumb/fingers and drops off to sleep within 5 minutes. Not a single compaint or tear or anything. We've been having issues with lots of night wakings, but the book has solutions for that too, I just haven't been able to use them as he's been either teething or in growth spurts for months!

My little one now is 17 months and I'm ready for her to sleep in her own bed. She's been throwing alot of tantrums lately and I'm dreading the transition. I also bf through out the night
