Help Please - + test or evaporation line?

Hi there...new to this site and I'm finding it very interesting and so glad I found it. I joined because I am going crazy searching the internet for answers.

So the attached picture is what my clear blue test looked like (only a little lighter right after I took it) It seems to have gotten a little darker with a couple of days - but not much. I had a friend look at the test after I took it (but it was over 10 mins. and she saw the line)

I took a blood test a couple of days ago and results came back negative. I was so upset. I was positive the hpt said positive. The nurse said that my hcg level was 2 and that anything under 5 is not pregnant. I am 8 days late for my period and have no idea what happened. I saw something about evaporation lines - could this be what is on my test? Any thoughts? Blood tests are pretty accurate right? Any thoughts opions would be helpful. I can't seem to wrap my head around this.

It does look positive, however, the blue dye preg tests are notorious for flase positives, if I were you I'd get a pink dye one and re-test, maybe a FRER or superdrug own brand??

Those blue tests are famous for false positives or blue colored evaps. Ive had a few myself. I say test again with a frer! Good Luck!

would be suprised if it was a true positive, blood result can not be wrong can it ?? Anyway good luck. Try a different test

In my experience with Clearblues a thin line is usually an evap, a thick line is a real positive.

It doesn't matter if it got darker after a few days, they are not conclusive after 10 minutes.

If the bloods said 2, then I am afraid I would highly doubt you are pregnant.

But test again to be sure, preferably with a First Response as they seem to be the best and most accurate.

hmm i hate CB -+ there a joke babes right u see how the line is very very think, this regards as a faulty test or evap (and yes they will go blue on CB) pls use a red dye test not a blue dye test TBH i don't think they should be allowed to sell them , ib heard many a woman get so exited after the blue cross result only for them to find it was faulse, never heard of a red dye ever lying so defo go for one of them and also huns bloods are quite accurate xxxxxxxxxxx

I agree, aviod the blue line tests and stick to the pink ones. Phone Clearblue and complain they will send you a digital then you'll know for sure.

Blood tests are alway accurate however, it could be the start of a pregnancy being at level 2.

I agree, blood tests are normally accurate and a level of 2 if very low. How long was it between taking your clear blue and getting your bloods done? I had a few 's back in September/October I think (thread is on here somewhere) with FRER it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. You could have a or it could be an evap. If af doesn't show up soon I would take another test, like a FRER test. I trust those ones 100%

I also got a faint in April with a clear blue and started AF 2 days later, so who knows what happened there. I got my true on Mother's Day with FRER.

Thank you so much to everyone who replied. I got AF today - boo! I will never ever recommend Clear Blue to anyone and I'm going to call them to complain. I was so excited - but looks like I'll have to wait till next month. The good news, is that now I know how I feel about having a baby right now. I just got married 6 months ago and I went off the pill cuz I din't know how long it could take to get out of my system. I wasn't sure if we where ready to start actively trying. But since "thinking" I was pregnant, now I know I want to start trying.

Congrats Baby Maybe - I'm so happy for you! And to find out on mothers day...what a nice surprise!

it looks weird to me. it looks like the line is just on part of where an actual line should be, not the full line.

i have a gf that had a LINE on one of them and it was a false +

What is a chemical pregnancy? and can the doctor tell you if you've had one? So my AF came on Saturday and now it's Tuesday and it's pretty much done. I've never had such a short AF before.

DCLee- a chemical pregnancy is basically a very early miscarriage. The egg is fertilized and your body does have higher levels of HCG due to minor implantation yet the egg doesn't stick. Most women have them yet do not know. It is common for women who are TTC to find out though as they test early. Most women with a chemical pregnancy start their AF right on time, that is why unless you test early you never know you had one. My doctor seen my s in his office but then did bloods and he said it was chemical. If you get actual for a day or more and then start AF on time, you can pretty much be sure you were pregnant, even if only for a few short days, since false positives are very very very uncommon.
Clear Blue +- tests are terrible though. I had a positive on them the month before I got my true last month and I am pretty sure it was an evap or something... I would never buy one of those again, I love First response early result. They are the best I have ever used!
