Hello everyone. Been reading these threads which has calmed me down a little, however can someone give me some advice?

Im trying for my first baby. Its been 2 weeks since ovulation, my period is due Thursday. I completed a test sunday which was positive (faint line).
I completed another digi test Monday which was positive.

After initial excitment, i read websites and made myself completely over anxious reading about false positives. Ive concinved myself this is the case with me.

Also when i went to the toilet tonight there was some spotting.

Also my breasts were sore which made me complete the test in the first place, however the tenderness has near enough completely gone away round about the same time i started worrying about this.

Please help coz im really anxious - i know i need to wait until Thursday to see if anything happens, however i was wondering how comma this is and how will i know/when will i know if it is a false positive. I dont have any other pregnancy symptons at all

i really want to get excited but cant!!

ps - can anyone explain some of the terminology, i really am a newbie and dont understand most of the abbreviations?!?!

try to relax until thursday darling....you may just be experimenting implementation that will explain the spotting...
good luck !

Welcome to BnB! :hi:

There's a whole list of abbreviations here: https://www.babyandbump.com/forum-help-testing-area/730-babyandbump-lingo-abbreviations.html

And congratulations on your positives!! False positives are very, very rare - and usually due to people leaving the tests too long before reading the results and the lines they see are actually evaporation lines rather than a positive test line.

Spotting and symptoms coming and going are both common in early pregnancy. I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant and really have no symptoms at all yet apart from a bit of tiredness and dizziness. I hope everything goes well for you and you have a very happy and healthy 9 months :hugs: x

(Edit...sorry miel - you posted while I was typing! I'm always too slow.....)

Thank you to you both.

Cant beleive how quick you both replied - i wasnt expecting a result until the morning!! Never used forums before. Really nice to speak to people who has experienced/understand.

Cant talk to anyone as dont want to tell anyone for a couple of weeks until sure!

Guess ill have to wait - feels like a lifetime away!

I think getting a positive on a digi is a really good sign because they are less sensitive than regular line HPTs ( I think, never used one yet) as far as symptoms a lot of women on here get nervous about feeling great one day out of the blue so it is very common. Congrats on your positives. Hope you have a ahppy and healthy 9 months.

Hey, hun! Congratulations on your PREGNANCY! And I say this with confidence, based on your positive digi result!

False negatives are very rare, and usually come about as a result of people taking the tests incorrectly! I hope that this will put your mind at rest: https://www.peeonastick.com/falsepos.html A positive on a digi is a pretty sure thing, and also you mention that you did more than one tests - the chances of getting TWO false positives is SO slim, in fact so much so that I would be willing to put money on you being pregnant right now, so CONGRATULATIONS!! :hugs:

You had better make that appointment at the doctors to start your antenatal care! :happydance: x

Thank you everyone.

You have all made me feel about a million times better!!

Can someone answer one more question for me please? If a chemical pregnancy occurs when will i know?

What i mean is will AF begin as normal on the due date? and from this date would a test come back negative?

Thanks

Hi, congrats on your pregnancy!

Chemical pregnancies or very early miscarriages occur differently for everyone. Sometimes it is indicated by a lightening of the test line on a HPT followed by bleeding around the time or slightly later than normal AF. There is no way to be sure unfortunatley and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. Have you taken any more line tests? Try and relax and hopefully your dpotting will have just been you little bean getting snuggly :hugs:
