help. wants only one side

I had my son on Sunday so just about a week old. We started off really strong and great I thought maybe we might actually get this down n do good!

Well yesterday I notice on my left side I have a clogged milk duct (ouch!!) So I put heat on it and continue to bf switching breast every new feed. Well today he will NOT take my left boob (btw its seemed to produce most milk n the nipple hurts the least)

I've tried many times to get him to nursey left but he just wont he'll suck 2x at the most and start yelling. Even tried diff positions. My right side is so sore and hard from only nursing on that side. I have a nipple gard I'm goibg to try to see if he'll latch but in the mean time any ideas?

Does it come out really fast on the left? I have overactive let down on the right, and I could see how that would cause a little baby to get upset. I had to use nipple shields until LO was old enough he kinda chokes through it or spits it out and looks at me while it sprays him in the face...

Also just persevere ... Bubs has has issues with over supply on one breat then the other then latch issues then supply issues ... And finally it sounds like its regulating...


It can take a while... Intact tho for the first two whole days lo wouldn't eat off my right and now he prefers it lol

Also don't worry ... At worst case scenario if u can only feed off one breast permanently it will still be plentiful in supply as mothers with twins are fine...
