Yesterday when we were getting Rocco out of his carseat, we noticed these bumps. My OH mentioned it and when I looked down, I only initiallyl saw 2 or 3. Well now it's like they've spread and there are about 6 of them. There are 2 on his other leg too and that's it. We thought they were bug bites, but since more have emerged, I don't think that's it. Plus, now they have like a blistery looking center to them. He got a vaccine on Thursday, but he didn't have any other symptoms. He's been fine. Any ideas??

And more of a close up. See the yellowish blistery thing in the middle?

they're still there. It's almost been a week. They're not as red and swollen but they're there. Two of my facebook friends said their kids had the chicken pox recently, and although Rocco hasn't been around either one, it sounds like it's going around. He was around the sister of one of the kids who got them. I think I'm going to take him to the dr Monday morning just to be safe. And that way too, if they are cp, they can at least mark in his medical history that he had them (despite his vaccination)
the only reason I don't think they're cp is because wouldn't they have scabbed over by now??

chicken pox?

He got a vaccine on Thursday, but he didn't have any other symptoms.

Did he get his chicken pox vaccine? He's 15 months, right? I thought they get the CP vac @their 1 year check up.

I noticed two bumps on Elle tonight. They look just like Rocco's. But she only has two - one on her wrist and the other on her right temple.

I guess I'm not much help. I have no idea what they are. I hope it's not chicken pox.

Hmmmm I just looked at his vac chart. On Thursday he got Polio, diptheria/tetanus/pertussis, and H influenzae type b. He only got one shot though but they listed all of them so I guess it was combined? And now that I'm looking, I don't even see chicken pox listed anywhere in the book! He hasn't been around many other kids that he could have gotten cp except on Saturday and I wouldn't think they would have shown up that quickly. And they don't seem to be bothering him at all. Now I'm really confused!

Here's the recommended vaccine schedule from the CDC. The chicken pox vaccine is called "varicella".

Duh! Lol thanks. Yeah he got that at his 1 yr check up back in June.

hives or an allergic reaction to the shot.idk:hugs: keep us posted:)

call nurse triage or the ER to ask should you bring him in just to be safe..awww:)

Look exactly like chicken pox hun , well thats what my girls looked like , get him checked :)

I think it looks just like chicken pox too although kinda weird if hes been vacinated against it?

Hun my Lo recently had a virus. We at first thought it was chicken pox. But when we took her to the Drs it was a nasty virus.
She had blisters all over her arms and legs and a temperature and was very very tired.

The blisters looked exactly like the ones rocco has.

Go to the Drs to get it checked out, just to be sure.

Thanks ladies! They're better today. I honestly think they were mosquito bites! I've never had bites get like that on me but I'm wondering since he didn't itch them, if they had a chance to fully form, unlike on older kids or adults, we normally scratch them. IYKWIM I'm going to keep an eye on them and call the doc if they get worse.

They did look bite like and on LOs it's easy for the insect to get about and had a good few goes as they don't notice so easily. I've noticed when Byron has had bites that they've cleared up really quickly too. Much more so than on me.
