I am new to this forum and decided to try to gain some support and insight from others who are in a similar situation as mine. My husband and I have been trying unsuccessfully to conceive for over 2 years now. I am a 27 year old woman who has had two previous pregnancy. The first pregnancy (with a different partner) resulted in my son who was born in December of 2004. The second pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage in December 2012. My husband and I are just now starting with a fertility specialist after waiting over 9 months to get the referral letter in the mail. I had a pelvic ultrasound done last week and this Wednesday we both go in for an appointment with the specialist.
So far we have found out that my husband has low sperm count and motility. I have a 2cm Dermoid cyst on my right ovary (which may or may not be causing problems with our fertility??) and my left ovary had 36 follicles in it when examined last Wednesday, the right 11 follicles. I still do not know what this could mean?
At this time I am feeling very discouraged. I am on my 3rd cycle since my miscarriage and I guess I just got my hopes too high that we would get lucky again and get pregnant again quickly, which hasnt happen. Plus add in all the new issues we seem to be finding and its becoming a very stressful situation for me.
Can anyone share with me what to expect with our fertility specialist? Would anyone know why I have so many follicles in my left ovary? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks.
