help with hospital/nhs!

Also, if you do need to travel 45 mins, it's not that bad. I did 50 mins last time and will this time just to have a good hospital. I promise you, it wasn't a big deal x

9 times out of 10 you will not see you mw at the hospital, i went to a hospital with fantastic reviews and due to lack of care my son died, this time i will be going to a closer hospital with a pritty bad review and they have been amazing with me so far. I have so many apps and scans i see the same consultant at all times.

I wouldnt beleive everything you read or hear and i have learnt that from experiance x

Sorry for your loss MumandDad. I appreciate you sharing your experience with me.

Thanks again ladies, I realise that a lot of what my gp told me doesn't add up. She said, for example, that if I had the birth at watford, then I could see the midwife at the surgery-- which is why I assumed she was part of the watford staff. She also asked me to decide at the appointment-- I realise now I have time to research and make this decision and that I can see this midwife without having it decide everything for me!

Thanks for all your help!

not much help i'm afraid but I should think you can give birth in which ever hospital you want where ever you want and the NHS will still cover it.

Please, please, please look into other hospital options! We thought the same with a nearby hospital as there had been a number of scandals over the years there, e.g. that they would 'be on their toes' - no, no, no! The machines were broken, they lost blood samples/tests and the morale was extremely low. I had a natural, complete m/c at home, because I refused to go anywhere near them when it was quite clear I was having a m/c; and the 'treatment' over the previous three weeks towards myself and other women was eventually investigated by the government -- look up miscarriage scandal Irish hospitals on google....

in this, my next pregnancy (17wks+2), we went completely private and are at another proper maternity hospital in Dublin; when we mention even the name of the previous hospital, the midwives/docs physically shudder...

best wishes
