Hi, not sure if I even have a question really just wanted to hear from anyone else who has been here. My DD2 has been diagnosed with reflux (and cmpa + soya allergy). She lost some weight at 7 weeks so sent to hospital and diagnosed with reflux sent home with ranitidine and gaviscon at 1am. At 2am after feed and gaviscon she woke very upset while trying to calm her she vomited a large amount of blood and milk, she then went pale and floppy and stopped breathing. She stopped breathing multiple times on the way back to the hospital and it was possibly the most traumatic night of my life. They said that they were apneaic episodes related to reflux, so after a week in hospital on lansoprazole and gaviscon we were sent home with an apnea monitor. We seemed to be doing ok for a bit and the vomiting seemed to be under control.
Now at 12 weeks we've had a week of static weight and getting her weighed again tomorrow (I suspect she will have lost weight again). She is vomiting large amounts again and some of it is blood stained. Been to gp who said there is nothing else meds wise they can do and that we will be sent back to hospital if she loses weight again and treated as failure to thrive. Does anyone know what they might actually do for her? I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall most of the time
She is currently breastfed (with me on a dairy/soy free diet) and when we tried her with alfamino formula she took it well then vomited the lot and had two apneaic episodes :dohh: so feeling a bit stuck with feeding options too.
Sorry for the essay, any advice or experience would be great to hear x
