HELP.. with saving money!

Hey ladies!
My names Kayla, I have a 9 month old baby and another on the way & a wonderful husband.
I'm 20 years old and I'm going to be getting my G2 in July, so I need to save money for a car ASAP!
Problem is, it's hard for me! It shouldn't be because DH pays for pretty much everything, I just pay for our cellphone bill, so I have extra money every month. It's sooo hard for me to save for some reason! I'll take some money out of my bank account and feel guilty later for doing it & pusses at myself.

Does anybody have any tips for saving money for somebody like me? Lol

Open another account that has a direct debit every month but only take money out of the normal account. Keeping it separate will help. Good luck

I do that - separate savings accounts for different things (ones without cards so I can't withdraw cash at a cash machine). I have a gifts savings account, a personal savings account and a household savings account. On pay day I transfer in a fixed amount to each account and then next pay day I also pay in any money left over from the month. The fixed amount isn't huge but it's money I know I definitely won't need to spend, then it's like a challenge to see how much extra I can add at the end of the month. It's nice to spend money but it's really nice to see money mounting up in the accounts... it's probably more fun than looking at new clothes or other things you don't really need

I would figure out how much you need for the car, divide that amount by the number of months or paydays you have to save, and then create a spreadsheet showing how much you should have saved up by the end of every month or pay period. Having a month to month goal is how I managed to pay off all of my debit (including a car loan) and save for the down payment on my house : )
