Hi Everyone
I am relatively new here and just want to ask if anyone knows if the Hep B vaccine can interfere with IVF drugs.
I am in the process of arranging a private consult to start IVF. Today I was offered a post as a Band 3 Healthcare Support working in an A&E dept. I went for my medical last week and the Occ Health nurse and declared the IVF treatment. He said that I would have to have a Hep B vaccine due to working with neddles as I have to take blood samples and am at risk of neddle stick injury.
He later said to "be careful about getting the Hep B vaccine, as it may interfere with what I am setting out to achieve". does this mean that I should wait until the IVF treatment is over before getting the vaccine as it may affect the IVF drugs, and therefore leave myself at risk of contracting Hep B?
it may be the case that I have to decline the job, however this is a excellent opportunity for me and is a massive pay rise as well
Thanks in advance for any advice given.
Also would it be "safe" to work on the frontline in A&E whilst TTC and PG? Is there anyone else out there TTC or PG and working in A&E?
