Is this normal?? I notice he does it randomly, Mostly when looking at me.
Will it correct itself or do I need to talk to his doctor??

My baby was loads crosseyed the first weeks, now shes just a little, shes 6 weeks.

It's normal hun. When babies start to concentrate at what they'r looking at their eyes get crossed. It doesnt last for long & it usually correct by itself.

I've noticed Charlotte doing this to, but only occasionally. With that said, I am going to say that it is perfectly normal, a bit cute, and nothing to worry about. Of course when she does it I do tell her if she keeps making that face it is going to freeze that way. If it does then that it is when I will concern myself with it.

Adam used to do this all the time when he was first born but only now when he's tired! It's just a sign that they are trying to focus at different ranges of distance from close up, to far away!!!

It is normal, it's because their muscles are not well enough developed for them to focus on things close up, it can last up until they are around 6 months and only after that do you need to get it checked if it continues.

Just to buck the trend, I'd mention it to the doc hon. Any kind of cross eye tendancies in babies generally resolve by 3 months and after that it's worth getting it checked out. Here's a link about squints for you to have a look at https://www.patient.co.uk/health/Squint-(Childhood).htm

Chances are it's just him focussing on something but if it is a squint then it's just worth getting it checked out to be on the safe side as the earlier they start treatment the better.

My daughter has a different issue and we noticed that she still had a squint at 5 months. We were referred to the eye unit at hospital who did a few tests and as it turns out she has a coloboma which means part of her retina and optic nerve didn't finish growing in the womb and she's blind in one eye. There's no treatment and she still has a bit of a squint which will be resolved in time through surgery but isn't a big deal.

As I say it could well be nothing but for the sake of an afternoon of tests, it's worth getting it checked out :hugs:

thanks hun. Yeah, now that you've said that I'll ask his doc Friday morning. We have to go anyways to check how his ear infection is healing

I'm with Lu28....talk to your Dr. about it.
Devin has a tendency to go cross eyed as well. Seeing as I have that problem, we (along with the Dr) are keeping a close eye on it, as it's more likely to be a problem when a parent also has it.

yeah neither DH or I have cross eyes but we both need glasses. My eye sight is terrible! my left eye is -5.75 and my right eye is -6.25

my LO goes cross eyed when she has wind or is about to puke lol
