HI all, - i've posted this in introductions but then i noticed this thread-- hope you dont mind the double post :)

This is my first pregnancy and to say the least i feel as naive as a virgin's first time. I am slightly suprised to have got to 36 and to realise i know nothing about being pregnant.

Just found out on Monday that I am 5 weeks pregnant... i've been on the pill and must have had a little mis hap and here i am! I'm now over the initial shock, and just in slight shock, but feeling giddy stage

I was quite suprised to find out i was pregnant, and only found out because i went to my nurse to find out the cause of my discomfort down below and no period.....
Imagine my suprise when the nurse said perhaps i was pregnant and got me to take a test!
I didnt even realise you can get a dull ache in pregnancy, and have been worried something was wrong the last couple of days, but have realised that this is generally normal feeling? almost like really mild period ache and tingly sensation?
so I will be glued to this forum, because as i've said, I know nothing NOTHING about the stages of pregnancy, and its all a bit terrifying and exciting.

My other half is still taking deep breaths from a paper bag as a type.. .. he has 2 older children to a seperate relationship, and is thinking "old dad lol"... but liking the idea..

So ok, sorry for the long ramble... I hope to gleem lots of things from you all as i share this experience with you.

Hi there and welcome!

I'm 37 and pregnant with my 4th! For some reason, my two pregnancies in my twenties were much more difficult and complicated than my 2 in my thirties. I guess we're as young as we feel? :winkwink: :haha:

So congrats on your pregnancy! Hope you'll have a happy and healthy 9 months. Oh, and yes, experiencing period-like cramps, tingling feelings, back-ache, etc. is all normal during those first few months. Even sharp, pulling pains are usually normal (ligaments stretching).

Hi Chellibelle, welcome and congrats on your little surprise!!

I'm 39 with my 1st...better late than never! a new adventure for me too :)
