Hey ladies according to all my scans there is only one baby but some people keep saying im too big for one baby and i have a hidden twin which is worrying me a little.

That is so rare these days it almost never happens, some people just get huge, I was massive with my first daughter & I'm really big this time too, lots of people were asking me if I was having twins

They said the same to me last time I was pregnant. It is so so unlikely for a second to be missed these days. Im sure it happens but it is very very rare.

I was told this too a lot but I'm actually smaller than normal, but baby measuring fine.

You could just have extra fluid or the way the baby is laying,I find I look and feel bigger when she is laying across me.

I get asked if I'm sure it's not twins all the time and I've had about 6 ultrasounds, I think if you've had a couple of scans and they've only found one baby, chances are there is only one baby :flower:

I think this was more common when they used to scan and find the baby and then just stop looking. Now they scan through your entire uterus to make sure everything is ok and there isn't another baby.

Don't take too much notice. I've had people telling me I'm huge (even though I measure small) and others telling me I'm tiny.

People keep saying to me "are u sure there's not 2 in there?" People are just idiots and have no idea how big a pregnant woman should be

everyone caries differently i highly doubt you have a hidden twin.

I'm huge!!!

Yesterday someone asked me if I was having triplets (I have the question about twins everyday). I told the person that maybe, just maybe I would be having triplest. I've had 3 ultrasounds and they always just see one baby. Maybe it's a different baby eachtime...... I left the person very confused....

...and no, I don't think women carry twins without knowing it, if the have ultrasounds. I did here about a lady just last month who wanted a natural pregnacy and birth. She declined ultrasounds and had a homebirth with a midwife. She had twins, without knowing she was pregnant with 2 babies. I guess that was pretty common before ultrasounds.

Even the doctors at the hospital when my mum went in for her csection with me thought she was the woman having twins lol. Understandable though i was 10lb 12oz born, 2weeks early, 58cm long.... No my mum was healthy and did not have GD lol i was just naturally huge! xx But seriously the chances of it being twins without being detected is tiny xx

Well with that logic, people keep telling me I look small so I must have half a baby in there!

I agree with what everyone else has said so far, very unlikely to miss a second baby once you reach a certain stage.

Next time someone tells you that you're too big for just one - tell them to stop being so bloody rude!!!!

I said to my midwife the other day someone had said to me are you sure its not twins and she said 'oh people are silly, they never come up to you and say don't you look great your always huge or too small' and she's right!

Its highly unlikely that they've missed a 2nd baby hun.

I get this too! Im massive mind but after 11 scans, you think they would have picked up a second baby haha! Technology has vastly improved since the first gen scanning machines and the like. Having a hidden baby in there is massively unlikely so I wouldnt worry :)

Also your fundal measurements would not be following the curve of the graph in your green book, they'd be getting slowly further away from the line as the 2 babies would be growing together, so lots of pointers for mw's to 'miss'.

There was a thread a while back about this where one lady did have twins without realising so search for that!

Well with that logic, people keep telling me I look small so I must have half a baby in there!

Me too, when people ask how far along I am they always reply "your bump is tiny"
Erm, considering its measuring 2 weeks ahead and babies legs are measuring 3 weeks ahead it just shows its all down to how you carry compared to body shape

I am sick of the....are you sure it's not twins/triplets conversation I get nearly every day.....apparently todayi have grown loads over the weekend according to 2 colleagues....and not grown at all for the past few weeks according to another.....absolute rubbish....I ignore them now.....I want a witty comment for the person who constantly INSISTs its triplets....despite me saying several times it s not ggrrr sorry-she gets on my nerves. Never normally talks to me until I got pregnant now she likes to say my bump is too big (I measure ok).
Ggrrrrr
