Does anyone know what normal hcg levels at 6 weeks for twins are? I know every expectant mother wonders about twins, but I'm very curious.

My sons levels, at 6 weeks, we my highest at just over 4800, and my daughter's were around 4100. I ask because when I had my blood draw the other night at the hospital, my levels at 6w1d were 77,125, and I've noticed that high end of average and normal levels for a singleton pregnancy are around 56 000 at 6 weeks.

They did an ultrasound and found one sac and heartbeat but it was one of those bedside ultrasounds that don't have the option of doing an internal and don't pick things up very well.

I was also put on diclectin for hyperemesis. Does anyone know what the normal hcg levels for twins are around 6 weeks? Could I actually be having more than one? The thought terrifies me, because if I am having more than one, it means I'd be a single mom to 4 under 4, so if anyone can help me, that'd be awesome.

i'm not sure on that. but having hypermesis is not always a sure symptom of twins. trust me, or i'd be the mother of twins right now lol.

Were you exactly 6 weeks when levels were taken? Maybe ovulated a day late?

Certainly your levels seem to be high, can you get your ob to have a better look?

Brandi, sorry I don't know. It's certainly possible it's more than one, but given that they only found one, it's probably a singleton. I wouldn't worry about the high hcg - every woman's different.

Mummy3, I was one hour in to being 6w1d when the levels were taken. The ultrasound machine they used was one of those crappy bedside ultrasounds that don't pick things up as well as the higher tech ones. This is either one very sticky baby or two very sticky babies. I'll find out for sure on September 23

I know the ones you mean! I guess its wait and see, this is your 3rd right? Do you feel any different than when pregnant with your other 2?:flower:

Apart from everything being exaggerated, no, I don't. I do have symptoms that I had with both kids, though, that I didn't have with the other, if that makes sense. I have symptoms that I had with my son that I didn't have with my daughter, and symptoms I had with my daughter, but not with my son.

I don't know what my levels were today as my doc stopped doing blood tests... but I was 1055 at 4w4d and everyone told me there were at least twins or triplets...
Had my internal scan today and only saw 1 healthy bub.

You might be just slightly out of the 'average' range for singletons, but there have been extremes with singles in both directions!

Not sure thats any consolation as I was worried until I saw the scan today (my levels were closest to the average level for triplets for the DPO I was... and I have my DPOs dead-on!)

I understand!! :) I feel the same way!

I recently had my Nuchal scan blood results and have 4 times higher HCG than normal. The results do not show HCG in the normal Miu measurement we all know and love, so I cant give you a figure, but my median was over 4, which is ridiculously high. As far as my scan at 11+4, i am having a singleton. Also, I have had barely any sickness. The hospital say there is nothing to be concerned about, it is just my level?
