High Risk Pregnancy.... come join!

Hi ladies,

I am lazy this morning...so I am just being a jerk and copying and pasting from the original thread...

I am high risk as well. I gave birth to our son at 23.4 weeks (I also had choriamnionitis but they are not sure if that happened due to my water breaking..or was there before...or what really happened). I have also had three miscarriages, all missed abortions (hate that word). I have a damaged (well now supposedly repaired, I had surgery earlier this year for it) uterus and cervix from a traumatic injury when I was 16 (rape, it's ok to talk about it, I have long since moved on from it).

So there we have it.

I have like almost NO idea what will happen with this pregnancy, my GP has been away for the entire pregnancy and the doctor replacing him is ok...but not great.

I was carrying twins, or so they suspect as yesterday during my second scan (where they could actually see something) there was signs of a second pregnancy but no second baby. But the little Boo still there is doing really well, heart beating away!

I have had lots of bleeding and cramps, but that is likely due to the loss of the twin...or the vanishing twin as the doctor phrased it.

I am due either July 19th or 22nd, 2011!

Tank - Is that a pittie in your avatar?! I have one too.. LOVE them!

Add me aswell please hun! Due date is 22nd July, which weirdly enough is the day Ollie was born :) I've got a consulatant apointment December the 13th and my dating scan is on the 22nd December

Had a scan this morning and bubs has got a good heartbeat and is measuring 7 weeks!

Hello to all the high risk preggies!!! I orginially posted on Snowflakes post and found teh thread you made. I would love to join!! I am due on June 22, 2011 (my OH's birthday!) At 4 weeks pregnant I had the majority of my cervix removed due to cervial cancer. I am having a cerclage put in around 14 weeks. Right now I am having a scan once a month, and seeing a fetal specialist and high risk obestrian every two weeks.

Good luck to us all!

Tank I have hypothyroidism also. I had my thyroid removed because of a cancerous tumor in '07. . . .

Vickiepoo- We have the same EDD, do you know if you are having baby early? I am being induced early. .

ttc Emily - I have no idea! Lol. I calculated 22nd July by LMP and for some reason midwife did the same and got 21st July *shrugs*, no idea if I'm going to be induced early or not (not sure why it says possibly early birth on the front page!) Will know when I see the consultant, whenever that may be lol.

How early are you being induced? ANd wow that is certainly high-risk.. Well done for being so brave too! x

Vixiepoo were due the same day :D

Good luck for your scan, I saw a lovely hertbeat today so I'm sure you will too! x

I am due the same day too...well maybe. I am between July 19 (my hubbys bday!) and July 22 going by my last period!

I will add you girls later on today, I have one kid going to school and the other not (jay is Skye isn't) skyes having to be dragged out in the cold, might take her to doctors later because she keeps coming home from school ill, so will be running alittle slow till afternoonish... But I promise when I come back will add you new girls to the front page

I'm supposed to have the scan on Saturday morning, getting a nice early one on the sly through work!! I've called into work saying I can't come in today cause of a combination of my sickness and not being able to get my car out of the cul-de-sac due to the heavy snow (and I will not be pushing it!) so I need to find a way to get in tomorrow otherwise they will be a bit like "well you can't make it in to do work, but you can make it in for a scan?" Lol. xx

Vix - they should get used to it - at least snow is a good excuse and scans are far more important anyway :)

When are you all telling work - I told my boss at about 9 weeks as the diabetes was already affecting my work and I kept going low and needed them to help me and make sure I ate properly (usually sweets in those early stages) Work has actually been great and helped me a lot as I was quite out of it when really low.

Had my physician appointment today and it was quite weird - he said my sugars are fine (I still want them better as they have been a bit high for my liking but he's worried about the lows more) He told me to tell the gynae to take my baby out at 34 weeks - I told him I'd like my baby to be able to breathe well when its born and he said "Well they have things to make the lungs work" Good thing he isn't my gynae although by 34-36 weeks I'll be wishing she's out but not at that cost. Am now waiting for the HbA1c to see what it says - still a bit worried about it.

nkbapbt Yay! How odd that theres 3 of us due on the same day!

Anna- It s probably best to get her checked out, bless her, hope shes better soon

Vixie- I think we’d all find a way to make it for a scan lol I had mine yesterday and the snow was terrible but there was no way I was mssing it :D I understand what you mean though it’s better to not have peple talking about you!

Tanikit- My mothers my boss so she already knows but I’m still on maternity leave from having my son so I’ll be running the two lots together and not going back till the new babies 6 or so months
I’m hoping they’ll agree to take this baby out as soon as possible I know there will be breathing problems and probably a stay in SCBU but I don’t trust my body to do it’s job, Ollie died so quickly and suddenly that I really think bubs will be safer out than in

Hey girls, hope you are all okay?

PleaseBaby I totally relate to not trusting your body, I dont trust mine either nor do I trust healthcare professionals (no offense meant to any one), so it makes pregnancy really hard :hugs:

I just booked my appointment at the recurrent miscarriage clinic (I will be looked after by them until sixteen weeks and then go to the high risk team, if I get that far). So my appointment/scan is Tuesday 7th at 9.20am and my due date is the 29th July 2011.

PleaseBaby in your situation I would also rather have my baby out early and to be honest if they start picking up anything on me I would ask for the same - I think its all a risk assessment in the end and for me the risks at 34 weeks should be higher to take teh baby out than keep it in but obviously that could change and by 36-38 weeks it will probably be safer to take her out - so much difference in so little time.

Have they discussed with you what they think is best yet or are they waiting to see what happens?

Tasha good luck for your appointment - will you be having an early scan?

Tanikit, a lot can change in those weeks, maybe your bloods will get more stable not less? But 34 weeks they will be able to breath alone I believe, it is more an issue of not having the suck reflex, low weight and also unable to regulate their own temperature.

I will have a scan on Tuesday, I will be alone as well, very scary.

Tanikit - OT question..is that a pittie in your avatar?

I have my third ultrasound tomorrow. I am really freaking out because last night I was woken up by mind numbing cramps on my left side. I still have very few pregnancy symptoms.

I everyone is having a good day.

And good luck to everyone having scans, I am sure I don't need to ask...but please let us know how it goes!

Sherri - How are you feeling? How is bubs?

Does anyone know what the earliest I could start demanding a cerclage at?

And for those of you who have had one, is it painful?

I have not had one before but should be having one this pregnancy at 11/12 weeks. I hope that helps you. Try not to worry about the cramps sweetie, and good luck for the ultrasound.

nkbapbt I don't actually know - stole it off the net pictures cause it looks very like a dog I had who had seven puppies when I was still in high school (she was a bullmastiff cross) so this one isn't mine.

Have heard of people getting cerclages at 13 weeks but the usual was 22 weeks - maybe discuss it with your doctor and push for an early one - I am not sure what the risks for an early one are. Have never had one myself. Wow three ultrasounds already - will you keep having so many and have they found the heartbeat yet as you are still very early.

Tasha , I also have no faith in the medical professionals, my bp went through the roof but they ‘forgot’ to do a urine test so the preeclampsia was left untreated! I’ve moved to a completely different hospital so hopefully the care will be better
I hope your scan goes well, keep us updated x

Tanikit, I’ve got my first consultant appointment on the 13th so I’ll have a better idea of what’s going on then, it’s mad how much difference two weeks can make.

Nkbapbt, best of luck for your scan, please keep us updated! I don’t have any symptoms either and by this time with Ollie I had my head down the toilet constantly!
I think Sherri will be the person to ask about cerclages

I am so sorry to read that, it is so tough having the people who you trust let you down. Honey died due to medical negligence and two days ago we got a letter admitting liability. I moved hospital too when I got pregnant with Honey's little sister, it was the best thing I did. I am always about if you need a chat.
