So we are going on holiday next week (woop woop) I have a few questions:

Can you take bottles of baby milk in your hand luggage?
Did you take jars of baby food with you in your suitcase?
Did you take a big tub of powdered milk or did you take ready made cartons?

Hiya
Ooh I bet you can't wait
1)You can take milk through with you in your hand luggage but you have to sample 50% of it so if you take 4 bottles or 4 cartons you have to sample 2.
2)You can put food pouches/jars in your suitcase
3)I breastfeed so didn't take any milk.
Have a lovely holiday x

When we went in June Boots in the departure lounge of the airport did this fab thing were you could preorder cartons of formula and then pick them up once you were through security - therefore didn't take up any of your luggage allowance nor cause any issues with liquid. I got a load of cartons but also brought a small tub of formula in my case. Wish I'd just gone entirely with cartons as sooo much handier on holidays especially when out and about in the heat.

I also brought food in my suitcase but I brought Ella's Kitchen/Plum pouches which may be better as no glass so therefore lighter, smaller and no risk of smashing. Just enough for one meal a day, bought bananas, dairlylea etc over there which was enough for LO's smaller meal each day.

Have a fab holiday! :)

Hey there - where are you going and for how long?

I recently flew from southampton airport to dublin. On the way out there I packed 2 cartons of ready made milk and 2 jars of baby food in my hand luggage. I was asked to taste one carton and one jar of food. On the way back they just asked me what bag the food was in and rushed me through - they didn't even inspect the jars to see if they'd been opened.

As for whether to take powder or ready made - I think that it completely depends where you are going, or how long, and how old LO is. You gotta think about whether you will have access to safe water to make up bottles, if not, do you have a fridge to store any opened ready made milk (if your LO doesn't drink a whole carton that is)??

Small world, I live in Southampton lol.

We are flying from gatwick to Tenerife, flight is about 4 and half hours.

Not worried about water as we will buy / use bottled water. Will prob take a tub of unopened baby milk powder.

I think it's mainly the flight I'm a little worried about.
