Hoping to breastfeed again...

Hi I am new I am 20 weeks along. But I have a question my son who is now 3 was 10 weeks premature I tried to breastfeed but with him being in the nicu and having to travel to see him I had to pump. I only did for 2 months because it just seemed like I couldnt get enough milk in. It was so hard having to travel and pump and freeze the milk then take over to nicu. I am hoping this one goes to term so far so good. I am wanting to try breastfeeding again, but I am wondering if there anything that I could to prepare my breast for it. I am a small cup anyways 34 a prepregnancy and 34 b now does that have anything to do with it. I dont know I just didnt have much luck first time around.

Size has nothing to do with it, so don't worry there. You really need your baby latched on to bring in a good milk supply and to keep it up, pumping just can not do it. So one your Lo is born, get him or her on the breast as soon as possible and let the baby camp out there. The more sucking the better as it will get the milk to come in. A really good book to read is The Womenly Art of Breastfeeding from the Le Leche League. You can also see if there is a Le Leche group in your town, and go to a meeting, it is a great resouce for breastfeeding.

I second what Samantha said- size has nothing to do with it. You will fine. I suspect the only reason you had problems with the first is because you were soley pumping. All the stress you were under wouldn't have helped either. Hopefully all will go smoothly this time!!
